Lost Father

Kuroyuri Horde

Y/N POV

I finish my story as everyone leans back taking in the information.

Ruby: "That's..."

Neo: "Messed up."

Jaune: "Why would people do that to children?"

Y/N: *stands* "That's enough talking. Time you all got some sleep."

Qrow: *stands* "Agreed. We still have quite a way's to go before we reach Haven."

They all nod heading off to bed.

3rd POV

The next day everyone wakes up to hear Y/N groaning in pain. Looking at him they see his body produce multiple versions of himself emerging on top of each other. Neo runs to his side.

Neo: "What's wrong?"

Y/N: "I don't... know. My versions... feel like they're... about to break free."

Neo leans him forward and looks where Layla grabbed him. The wound is now slightly gangrenous with lines of decayed flesh branching out from the wound.

Neo: "Good Oum."

Y/N: "Guess I got hurt worse than I thought."

He slightly chuckles. Meanwhile Qrow slings Y/N over his back and carries him down the road. 

Neo: "How much further?"

Ren: "No clue. Without a map it's hard to tell."

Neo looks at a passed out Y/N with a look of worry. Ruby places her hand on her shoulder giving her a smile. She returns it when someone shouts.

Nora: "Hey, a sign."

Her and Ren run to it.

Neo: "Well?"

Ren: "The quickest route will be through the mountains."

Qrow: "I can't carry and climb."

Nora: "There's another route. Through a little town called Kuroyuri."

Ren: "But that town was destroyed a while back. Doubt we'd find any supplies."

Ruby: "It wouldn't hurt to check."

They all head towards Kuroyuri. Entering they see the town's been laid to ruin. But sticking to the mission they search for any possible medicine left behind. Their search is cut short by a howl. Regrouping at Y/N they see a massive horde of Grimm.

Jaune: "What's the plan Ruby?"

Ruby: *withdraws scythe* "Fight and protect Y/N."

They all withdraw their weapons as the horde charges.

Y/N POV

I faintly open my eyes to see the others mid fight with a Grimm horde. I look at Neo to see her struggling with two Deathstalkers. I go to get up but my body spasms out making me fall face first into the dirt. 

Y/N: "I don't know what's going on with you but you need to pull it together. Neo's in trouble and we need to help her. So quit bugging out and work with me."

I force myself to my feet and withdraw my daggers. Charging forward I bring my daggers down on the second Deathstalker. Its left eyes are sliced open making it screech. I switch to a different version gaining some distance.

But that's when my body tenses up, not now. I look up rolling to the side dodging the stinger. With a half spin I slice it off. The Deathstalker hisses when I unload bullets into its face. As it bursts into dust I look forward to see lots of people coming through the trees helping us.

Y/N: "Thank Oum."

3rd POV

Y/N passes out. Neo throws his arm around her neck and carries him to the others.

Ruby: "Who are you guys?"

Ren: "Hello uncle."

Nora: "Uncle Sam!!!"

She dives hugging him.

Jaune: "He's... your uncle?"

Ren: "Yeah, after our parents passed away our uncle took us in and raised us. What're you even doing this far east?"

Sam: "Oh you know me, just following the skirts of women."

Nora: "Unnecessary comment!!!"

Ruby: "Listen, Y/N here has a nasty wound. He needs help quickly."

Sam: "Well you're in luck."

He presses a button on his scroll. After a minute or two Mistral airships arrive picking everyone up.

Nora: "Thanks Uncle Sam."

Sam: "No worries runt."

Nora: "I'm not a runt anymore!!!"

Ren: "Will we see you again?"

Sam: "Course kid, I'll always be there for you guys. After all, I made a promise to your parents. And I damn well intend to keep it."

They smile giving their uncle one last hug. They then leave heading for Mistral. There Y/N is rushed to a hospital. While he's treated Neo and Ruby wait outside the room with Neo becoming more worried by the minute.

Neo: "I'm scared. What if something's wrong? What if-"

Ruby: "Relax, he's gonna be fine. He's really strong. I'm sure the doctor's gonna walk right through that door and tell us he made it."

As if predicting the future the doctor walks out with Neo and Ruby walking to her.

Neo: "Well?"

Doctor: "He's fine. The wound was pretty bad but not life threatening. His power will be on the fritz but should be back to normal after a couple days. He's a very lucky man. That wound should've killed him."

Neo: *smiles* "That's Y/N for you. Always surviving the impossible."
