Lost Father

Leonardo Lionheart

Y/N POV

After fixing me up and pumping me with pain meds I walk with the others to meet with Mistral's headmaster. But upon entering the academy we find it completely silent.

Neo: "Is it normally this quiet?"

Qrow: "No. Something doesn't feel right. Follow me."

We do. We're then led to the headmaster's office. When Qrow kicks the door down we're greeted by a lion Faunus.

Lion: "You nearly gave me a heart attack Qrow!!!"

Qrow: "Whatever happened to waiting for us at the gate?"

Lion: "I'm sorry. I got held up with something."

Ruby: "Who is this Qrow?"

Lionheart: "Leonardo Lionheart at your service."

Neo: "So where is everyone?"

Lionheart: "Come inside."

We're let into his office.

Qrow: "Alright Leo, what's going on?"

He places his scroll on his desk. A video is then projected. On it is a familiar figure.

Neo: "No way, that's the guy we saw in Vale."

Qrow: "You know him?"

Y/N: "I accidently bumped into him."

Boy: "Dear students of Mistral, you need to leave. The place in which you're standing is where a great battle shall commence. If you choose to stay then you'll only die. In case you don't believe me, allow me to show you how serious I am."

Suddenly a bound Lionheart appears next to him.

Lionheart: "Attention all students, run! Run and don't look back! This guy's a psychopath!"

The boy then slams a dagger into Lionheart's chest making him fall to the ground.

Boy: "You've been warned. Leave, or die."

The projection disappears. Lionheart then lowers his shirt revealing the place he was stabbed which is now just a long scar.

Lionheart: "I managed to escape and get help. As far as I know he doesn't know I'm still alive."

Ren: "What're you still doing here?"

Lionheart: "I've been trying to reach the other councils. But for some reason nothing's getting through. I fear whoever this is has disabled all outward communications."

Nora: "So what do we do?"

Y/N: "This kid wants a fight. So we're gonna give it to him."

Neo: "Are you sure?"

Y/N: "No. But this kid's a threat. And we need to stop him."

Ruby: "But that'll be hard. You're still recovering and you're our one shot at beating someone like him."

Y/N: "I'll be fine. Once I'm healed I'll make sure that kid knows it was a mistake to start a fight with me."

Lionheart: "What can I do?"

Y/N: "You leave. Once the threat's over we'll let you know."

*timeskip*

I lay out some utensils when there's a knock on the door. Opening it I'm greeted by two familiar faces.

Y/N: "Hey guys."

Yang: "Sup."

Weiss: "May we come in?"

Y/N: "Of course."

I let them inside when I'm met with more people. Letting them inside I hear Ruby scream.

Ruby: "Mom! Dad! Aunt Raven!"

She runs hugging each of them. 

Y/N: "So you guys must be her family."

Tai: "Yep. Tai, her father."

Summer: "Summer, her mom."

Raven: "Raven, her aunt."

Y/N: "A pleasure to meet all of you."

Ren: "Dinner's ready."

Qrow: "Shall we eat?"

They all nod. We then head into the kitchen where we all fix a bowl. From there we just eat and talk. As I eat I notice Neo and Ruby whispering to each other. They then stand up.

Ruby: "Mom, dad, aunt Raven. There's something I would like to tell all of you."

She opens her mouth but nothing comes out. When Neo holds her hand she smiles steeling herself.

Ruby: "I'm gay. And Neo is my girlfriend."

There's a moment of silence. Everyone then smiles.

Summer: "Oh honey. We're so proud of you."

Ruby: "You are?"

Tai: "Yeah. Although we kinda suspected it. We're just glad you came out to us."

Raven: "Either way we'll still love you no matter what."

She smiles hearing those words. Neo then looks at me.

Neo: "Looks like we're one big happy family dad."

Tai: "He's you're dad?"

Neo: "Yep."

Tai/Summer/Raven: "He's so young."

Y/N: "Why does everyone always say that?"

Everyone laughs while I just poke my food. A few days later once my ability is fully functional I gear up for the fight to come. While I throw on my jacket I hear Ruby talking to her parents.

Summer: "You be safe you hear?"

Ruby: "I will."

Tai: "We mean it young lady."

Neo: "Don't worry Mr. Xiao Long. I promise to look after her."

I smile holstering my daggers.

Y/N: "Alright everyone, time we got going."

They join me at the door. We then make our way to the academy.
