Ryan was breathless not even two minutes into the training. Yugi frowns and lightly plays with his father’s nose. “You are not feeling well father.”
Ryan shakes his head and smiles. “I'll be fine after a quick rest…*cough* *cough*” Ryan's bark became raspy.

Yugi frowns and places his head under Ryan’s snout. “Father… you won’t make the winter will you?” Yugi asks softly

Ryan sighs and looks down. “I'm an old wolf son. I can barely keep up with the pack when we hunt. I fear we may not find enough food this winter. I'm ashamed I can't keep my family safe.”

Yugi sighs. “Then… Then I’ll find something during the night. My eyes allow me to see in the dark.” Yugi said. “If I must I will hunt.” Ryan frowns at his son. “But Yugi nighttime alone in the woods is dangerous…” “I'll go with him.”

Yugi turns his head seeing Yami. “You don’t have to Yami. I’ll be fine.” Yami snorts and gave Yugi a *really* look. “I am used to hunting at night. I was taught how to by a bobcat. I can also help your family survive the winter. However Sir I need you to go to your cave and rest. Your body is overworked that's why you are coughing.” Ryan blinks and looks at Yugi. “It's your call son.”

Yugi pushed his father with his own nose towards the cave. “We’ll be fine. We have all day.” Yugi said.

Ryan goes to take a step when his footing gets shaky and Yami catches him letting him lean on him as he looked as Yugi. Yugi closes his eyes and turns half human before picking up his father. “Let’s get you home.” Yugi whispers.

Yami helped Yugi carry Ryan to the cave as Kathleen gently wrapped around her mate to keep him warm. Yugi transforms back into his cat form.
Seto huffs. “This stinks, how are we to survive without food?”

Yami speaks up. “Stop whining and help take care of the pups. Yugi and I are going hunting and we will bring some food back.” Yami walks out of the cave as everyone looks after him in amazement as no one had ever told Seto off before.

Yugi follows Yami with a small frown. “Yami why are you helping us? I thought you were leaving.” Yugi said as he caught up to Yami.

“I have my reasons. Also no self respecting alpha or any animal for that matter leaves a struggling pack or young to fend for themselves. It's cruel.”

Yugi sighs and stays quiet as a few memories of his birth mother come into his mind. “Yeah… cruel.” Yugi whispered. Yami looks over and nuzzles Yugi's shoulder.

“Remembering your birth mom?” He asked as he looked straight as they walked.

Yugi sighs. “It’s nothing. Let’s just hunt.” Yugi said. Yami nods as his sharp ears pick up the sound of a moose as the smell of a fresh kill comes into the air as a different pack of wolves tries to get to the dead calf only to be driven away by the mother.

Yami watched with sad eyes before he walked slowly towards the mother.
The moose mother goes to attack when Yami does something Yugi didn't expect. He started making moose noises. The female moose responded and looked down as her dead calf.

The noises Yami made sounded sympathetic as their conversation lasted for only a few minutes before Yami nodded as he bowed politely and walked away.

When Yami walks past Yugi he looks at him confused. “Yami… what happened?” Yugi asked. Yami sighed.

“That poor mother just lost her baby and is trying to grieve. I told her I was sorry for her loss and she said that if we will not touch her son's body until she has properly grieved we can have the body. She would rather us have it than scavengers.”

Yugi nods his head as they come up to a running stream. Yami looks around until he sees a log. “Let's cross there. The current is too strong.”

Yugi frowns. “Maybe I’ll stay over here and look.” He said not going anywhere near the water. Yami nods as he goes across. Seto is watching from the bushes and smirking as he snuck into one that was close by where Yugi was. 'Bye bye you freak’ he thought as he made a loud growling noise.

Yugi squeals in fright and jumps accidentally into the water before seeing it was Seto who scared him.

“Yami!”
