The entire pack and Skylar came running when they heard Yami’s cry. Ryan and Kathleen watched in horror as their son fell.
Mana ran up to Yami. “Yami what happened?” She asked.
Yami was shaking hard as sobs wracked his body. “The evil wolf..attacked... .Yugi….fell.” He sobs as he sank to the ground and howls his grief.
Everyone gasped and looked into the water before howling with Yami. Even Skylar and Oak had joined in on the howl. It was a sad mournful yowl. Slowly the howls died down but Yami couldn't and wouldn't leave the water’s edge.
“You said you would never leave me...you promised we would be together, Yugi. Please don't leave me…” Yami sobs as his tears fall into the water.
“And I plan…on keeping it. With you…till the end.” A weak voice whimpered behind the pack.
Everyone turned with a gasp. Yami was on his feet immediately and rushed over to Yugi, almost tackling him. “Yugi! Oh for the love of the great wolf don't do that to me again! I thought I lost you.” Yami whimpered as he gently nuzzles Yugi.
Yugi was there limping. He had scratches all over him and a slash over his right eye and his leg was bloody. But through all the pain he smiled at Yami.
“I’m….I’m okay.” Yugi said softly. “I’m still the champion of tag too.” Yugi nuzzles Yami back. Kathleen and Ryan and the rest of the back rush over and take turns nuzzling, licking, and just making sure he is actually there.
Kathleen cried softly as she hugged Yugi as gently as she could. “My Baby…” She said softly as she looked over his wounds with concerned eyes. Yugi winces before hugging his mother. “I’m here Mama. I’m okay.”
Yami stays close to Yugi the whole time even though the Omega flower has worn off. Once everyone realizes Yugi is alive, Seth solemnly asks. “And of mine and Mana’s former litter mate?”
“I tried to save him.” Yugi said softly. “We were both falling towards the rocks. He kept kicking at me and soon we hit the water. Though only I hit the water in one piece.” Yugi said shamefully.
Kathleen and Ryan gently comfort Yugi. Isis and Mahana were extremely sad that their son died but they are happy Yugi is alive.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t want anyone to die. I just wanted to weaken Seto with the water.” Yugi said.
Isis goes to her nephew and licks his fur. “It was his foolish pride and ignorance that killed him, Yugi. Do not feel that you are responsible for what happened. Seto did everything on his own will.”
Yugi nods before wincing and laying down on the grass and looks at his leg before sighing.
“Now let me have a look at that leg and those wounds then I can have Shaadi patch you up.”
Yugi nods and tries to stand up but is wobbly.
“No, don't stand Yugi stay down. You'll hurt yourself further if you don't stay down.” Yugi nods and lays back down. “I’m sorry for worrying you all.”
Lily and Bark go over and nuzzle their older brother. “Just don't do it ever again.” Bark nods as he licked Yugi's ears and wagged his tail.
Yami nods as he lays down with Yugi as Shaadi and Isis patch him up. One of the plants they put on the wound stings a bit and Yami licked Yugi's fur to distract him till the stinging went away.
Ryan smiled proudly at his son. “So my son you won the fight. Also is it true what I have been told? You found a mate?” He asked as he smiled at Yami and Yugi. “Since both ways allow you the title of pack leader when I resign you will lead our pack. I am so proud of you my son”.
