Leonore was exhausted mentally and emotionally. Eliane trying to kiss her took her by the surprise, that's why she didn't pull away immediately and pushed her quickly away when she came to her senses. Leonore was grateful she didn't respond to her kisses, especially now that she knew Eliane was Virginia's daughter and being the driver that killed Claire. Leonore didn't remember if she ever saw the driver and then again it was hard not to look away from Claire's broken body. Leonore never really thought about the driver of the car that ran Claire over and how they would be affected by it. She was too wrapped up in her own grief and pain, and the fact that she felt responsible. It sent her spiralling, and she ran, living in fear the truth would come out. She wasn't completely heartless and despite hating her she cared for her. Claire James came into her life unexpectantly and at the time became a refuge when life became difficult after the professor broke up with her. Little did she know Claire was the reason she lost the love of her life. In the beginning she was a great friend and gave her comfort, but she was never happy with being her friend. Claire kept at her until she couldn't say no, then she showed her true colours and trapped Leonore into a relationship she didn't want. Kathy, Angie and Caro hated her and only tolerated her because of their love for Leonore, she should've taken their warnings more seriously. Even after Leonore found out that she was cheating, she let Claire stay in her life as it was easier to stay with someone she didn't love and knew didn't love her. The fact she threatened Kathy's and Caro's happiness also kept her by Claire's side and she wasn't going to let her destroy them for her stupidity. Leonore wasn't the same after Virginia left, she was broken and incapable of loving anyone. Claire made it easier for her to pretend she could love as in the beginning Claire had enough love for the both of them as the years went by it became harder and hate replaced any affection, she had for her. The day Claire died was a mixture of relief and fear, she was free of her and could be with the love of her life. However, when it came down to it, she couldn't and ran away from the one thing she always wanted. Leonore had spent many a night wishing she could have her professor back and have the life they had before everything changed. But what Leonore didn't count on was the doubt that slowly creeped in and sowed its seeds in her heart, she no longer trusted in the fairy tale her head created. So, Leonore walked away before it turned into a horror story as that day showed Leonore who she truly was and where her heart truly belonged. Breaking Virginia before she could break Leonore again and to protect those she cared for, mostly from herself. Now she was back, and Leonore was faced with a choice. She could either ignore Virginia and be happy with Kathy or go to her and she wasn't sure she will survive this time.
Leonore arrived at home, she didn't remember the drive and the fact that she arrived without a scratch. It was a good sign that nothing happened and the fact she was at home not the Hyatt was also a good sign. She sat there for a few moments, getting herself ready to socialise and deal with Caro. A tap on the window made her jump slightly and made her wonder how long she had been sitting there, thinking did she doze off sitting there.
"Little one, why are you sitting out here and not come inside?" Kathy asked, curious as to why she didn't come inside.
"Sorry Kathy, it's been a rough day." Leonore answered, which was very true.
"Come in and tell Mumma why?" Kathy said, opening the car door and picking her up.
Kathy carried Leonore inside and she clings to her, hiding her face in Kathy's neck. When she went in Kathy took Leonore over to the couch and sat down with her. Caro brought Leonore a whiskey, which she drank immediately and asked for another.
"What is wrong Little one?" Kathy asked, wanting to know what happened.
"A client I have was the girl who was driving the car that killed Claire, she is messed up and it haunts her. I feel so responsible." Leonore answered, not hiding it.
