June, Graduation Day

─────── °∘∘♡∘∘° ───────

Nina could hear the din of her classmates near the graduation stage as she paused the video of Ricky. "I don't know if I can watch this," she whispered, looking into his eyes on her screen. Her finger ghosted over the outline of his face, tears blurring her vision and she spoke desperately to the last version of him she had left. "It's too hard. Maybe I should do this later,"

She didn't have to watch it all at once, Ricky certainly wouldn't want her to if it was going to make her sad. If she put off watching it all the way, it would be like she got to hold onto this piece of him for longer. She could hold on to him for longer.

She could live the rest of her life, staring at that frozen smile of his, convincing herself she'd watch it tomorrow, it was too hard today.

But as she looked down at her phone, with Ricky's smiling face frozen on the screen, she knew she was going to keep watching. She wandered away from the graduation area in search of a quiet place.

She never could resist him.
