Shotaro leaned away from the mic, rolling his swivel chair to the right where jeno, his boyfriend since high school, sat behind the glass that separated the recording booth and the mini lounge. He smiled at the older, showing a thumbs up, which jeno returned with his own.
It been a few years since the events of high school, probably six if shotaro was counting (which he did). And in those six years, many things changed.
It was now him and jeno, not him and sungchan.
Jaemin proved the rumors wrong, he did not move to HYBE, he moved to LVU before proceeding to attend a more advance school in the US with renjun. Jaemin was also engaged. The news came to him from jaemin's aunt who told him mother. The groom? Shotaro does not know.
Renjun, as mentioned before, went to the US with jaemin. He hasn't heard much from the Chinese.
Donghyuck was still around, taking Johnny's role when it came to politics. They rarely met now.
As for Mark, he hasn't heard from the older since he left for Canada.
Yangyang was studying engineering in the same university as he was but they rarely crossed paths.
Shotaro hasn't heard from xiaojun and hendery. It was like they disappeared.
And lastly, he hasn't heard anything from sungchan. He tried asking jeno about it, but the older would say he didn't have a clue what the younger was doing. It could be a lie. A lie jeno told him to keep him away from sungchan. He knew why but he won't say it.
After keeping his stuff, shotaro left the recording booth, crashing into jeno's open arms. The older ruffled his hair, smiling softly.
Was shotaro surprised to see jeno here? No. The older made sure to drop by during his break, he worked in the company sungchan's family owned as the chief marketing officer. To say jeno was rich was an understatement. The guy could buy an entire island unprovoked.
Shotaro gave a smile to jeno, forcing himself to ignore the cooes coming from his co-workers. It was an every day sight and he was surprised no one voiced out how disgusting it looked.
Jeno took his bag, motioning for him to walk ahead. It was always like this. Jeno's break meant his break. They would go to a five michelin restaurant. Does shotaro like going to that kind of place? Of course not. He would much rather be eating from the street food seller like he did with sungchan. And if he told you jeno never tried street food, would you be surprised?
