Ignorance... blissful ignorance.
It was all Black Sheep was.
She was someone who yearned for adventure, would argue that stealing the stars were possible if she tried hard enough...
The young orphan was the bright light of blissful ignorance that illuminated VILE academy... A bright pink glow among sinister green.
She was seen as the Black Sheep of the herd, no doubt why it was the only name she had ever known...
Until, a red fedora and coat had stolen that away from him... from them... and from her.
Someone by the name of Carmen Sandiego had killed their infamous Black Sheep.
She was the reason he was alone, the reason he had only his career to think about.
And he would do anything to change that.
Crackle would do anything to bring his best friend home.
After he had first met this, 'Carmen Sandiego,' someone who looked down at him, he felt nothing but contained rage and sorrow.
He didn't wish her harm... not until he decided that Carmen and Black Sheep were two different people.
He never thought about this again, instead fixated on the idea of bringing down the red rogue and mourning the loss of his closest friend.
That was until he got his memories back, when he was able to "reflect" on what Carmen meant to him.
When he was able to "reflect" on the fact that Carmen wasn't the only killer in the room.
He had killed off Graham, sure... but VILE, his criminal impulse, and his need to succeed had killed off Gray.
And he was reborn as Crackle.
...but when he was Graham once more, that was when Black Sheep had made her appearance.
Hidden beneath the folds of red, she was still alive, and he found himself seeing that bright light in Carmen. Crackle found himself unable and unwilling to harm her when she crashed into Bellum's lab.
The situation was dire and confusing, but once he had made up his mind, he stuck with it.
That bright light he had grown to adore was hidden somewhere within Carmen, hidden from those she didn't know or trust.
Making it probable that she shared such emotion with her team, Shadowsan included.
But what if... this 'Carmen' could trust him?
So he aided in the faculty's plot to bring their bright light home.
He aided in the mission to take down Carmen Sandiego.

Hey ya'll, excuse the notes, I didn't feel up to completing this chapter, butttttt also didn't want to leave everyone on some form of a cliff-hanger.
I do know that people 'ship' RedCrackle and may disagree with this headcanon; but please keep your opinions to yourself! I write for fun and don't want to withhold that for myself when people start to criticise it.
Besides, this really helped me get into the mind of Gray/Graham/Crackle and I enjoyed writing it, so, without further ado~
Happy Reading!! ❤️
