Carmen eyed the Ferris wheel just before she laid eyes on the detective again. She could send his partner a message.
Or... she could have fun with it.
Evil Carmen is walking through the streets of Vienna, Austria when something triggers a painful memory that sends her into a downward spiral.
It was a warm, brisk evening; the sunset in front of Carmen letting out a harsh glow; blinding her.
Colours of orange and red danced in her vision, fading more by the hour as the sun dipped just below the horizon.
The Argentinian revisited the events of that afternoon silently, raising a cup of hot chocolate to her lips and taking a sip.
Beside her, Tigress was sneering at Graham. Something she was hardly listening to, silently hoping the conversation wouldn't turn to her.
She focused back on the group, trying to ignore the pounding in her head that kept her on her heels.
"Was it not worth it, just to see the look on the Bookkeeper's face?" Carmen smiled at the statement, finding amusement.
"Absolument."
She moved to take another sip out of the mug clutched in her hands, turning away from the group to admire the evening once more.
Her eyes caught on something immediately after turning away, a frown absorbing her features.
She placed the mug down, eyeing the familiar subjects.
"Well, well." She mused, mentally placing labels to the dispersing pair.
"My plainclothes pals." She grinned maliciously. Everyone turned to her, the atmosphere suddenly tense.
"Wait for my signal, Crackle." Carmen abandoned the mug and stood, hiding her fists in the insulated fabric of her hoodie.
"Woah! really? Why do you keep insisting on taking these risks?"
Carmen grinned from ear to ear, looking at him from over her shoulder. "I do it for the mental gymnastics."
She shoved her hands in to her pockets and started off in one direction.
Carmen eyed the Ferris wheel just before she laid eyes on the detective again. She could send his partner a message.
Or... she could have fun with it.
Carmen was at the front of the non-existent line in no time. She peered over her shoulder, sneering when they locked eyes.
"Carm?" He'd called. She didn't stop...
But that word, coming from him specifically set off something in her. Everything did lately. She wanted to growl in frustration, lash out with make believe claws like she'd imagine Tigress would. It was just so frustrating, fuck Tigress for giving her that concussion.
Carmen registered the carriage taking off, and the detective behind her catching his breath.
She stood there, letting him decide what she did to him.
"Carm." There was a bead of silence after she didn't respond. Like he'd expected her to? She scoffed internally, grinding her teeth.
"Are you alright?"
"It's Carmen." She snapped. "And why wouldn't I be alright? I'm better than alright, I'm on top of the world."
Carmen let her arms extend, timing it so that power went out when they reached the top.
