"It's much too late to find. When you think you've changed your mind. You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry. Don't you want me, baby?. Don't you want me? Oh!"
Penny was thankful for the weekend. That way she could sort her thoughts and not have to stress about homework. She enjoyed school for the most part, she just hated homework. Whenever she got home, she just wanted to relax and not do anything else.
Penny looked at the time on her alarm clock. It read 12:04 A.M. She let out a frustrated groan and got up from her bed. She knew that she wasn't going to be able to sleep at all. Her mind was running at a million miles an hour.
She had gone with the Cobras to watch them practice, but their Sensei was a huge dick and made some comments about Penny. The first thing that came out of his mouth was, "Which one of you brought your girlfriend to practice." And when Penny told him that she was Bobby's sister, he just laughed.
The man was just screaming at the boys and the boys were screaming back. After awhile, the started fighting and it was brutal. Eventually, Penny had to step outside for some fresh air because the entire place smelled like sweat.
She decided that karate at Cobra Kai would not be for her. She would be the only girl and she could tell their Sensei would antagonize her constantly.
But after practice was done, Johnny had taken Penny and Bobby home. The ride wasn't too long, the girl just didn't know what to talk about with them. It also didn't help that Penny was stuck in the back of the car and the boys didn't put on any music. All they talked about was karate. Penny had imagined the ride to be much more entertaining.
When the three arrived at the Brown household, Bobby got out of the car first and was already walking up the front door, leaving Penny alone with Johnny. As she was climbing out of the backseat, Johnny stopped her and apologized for what happened at lunch. The girl was flabbergasted and just looked at Johnny. She didn't expect that at all. She wanted to show him that she forgave him but didn't really know how. Penny somehow mustered up enough confidence to thank him. She smiled and got out of the car. When she was walking up to her house she waved at him goodbye.
And now she was pacing her room thinking about her every single interaction she's ever had with the blonde. The boy had grown on her in such a short amount of time. But she was so confused, why was she suddenly feeling this way towards Johnny? So what if she did like him, there's no guarantee he would feel the same about her. And there was the fact that he either ignored or was a total asshole towards her whenever her brother was near.
Penny was torn out of her thoughts when her phone rang. She walked over to her phone and picked it up.
"Hello?" The girl spoke softly into the phone.
"Hey there short stuff. I was hoping it'd be you who'd pick up the phone."
"What're you doing calling at this time Lawrence?"
"I could ask you why you're up at this time. I honestly don't know why I'm calling, but here I am talking to you on the phone short stuff."
"Karate at Cobra Kai does not look like an option for me."
"Why's that?"
"Johnny."
"I know, I know. There was a little bit of hope that you'd want to do it but I guess I'll just have to teach you myself."
"Real smooth with it Lawrence."
"Thank you. I take pride in being a natural flirt."
"Johnny can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah."
"Why are you so different towards me when Bobby's around?"
"He's very protective over you. And I can't talk to you the way I want to because then he'll think I'm making a move on you, which wouldn't be good. He made this rule a few years ago, that none of us can date you. And now I don't know why I'm telling you this."
"But what if you are?"
"What?"
"What if your making a move on me?"
"Whatcha trying to imply short stuff?"
"I'm not trying to imply anything. I just want to know if you are making a move on me or not."
"Don't bully me about what I'm going to tell you."
"That sentence is very ironic coming from you Johnny Lawrence."
"Hey, I don't bully anyone."
"Yeah? Tell that to Daniel LaRusso."
"Got me there short stuff."
"So, tell me. Are you making a move on me?"
"So what if I'm making a move on you. It's not like I can do anything about it."
"I mean you can. It's just a matter of if you do or don't"
"Are you saying you want me to make a move on you short stuff?"
"Oh please Lawrence, I saw how you looked at me on Tuesday. Don't try to flatter yourself"
"I don't know what your talking about."
"I've got eyes. I'm pretty sure you want me Johnny Lawrence."
"Oh please. If anything your the one who wants me. I know you've had a secret crush on me since I started hanging out with Bobby."
Penny pursed her lips. It was true. She always kind of had a crush on him since Bobby first brought him around. She had suppressed it because Bobby would embarrass her. And she suppressed it even more when Ali and Johnny started dating. She had thought she could move on from him by forming some kind of hatred for him. It had worked for awhile. But as the new school year started, old feelings came back. She was now realizing that her feelings for Johnny stayed with her, and it wasn't a sudden thing like she originally thought it was.
"Alright. So what. I had a crush on you. It's not like you liked me back. I mean you started dating Ali. And plus Bobby would've embarrassed me."
"Maybe I didn't like you back then, but feelings like that don't always last forever."
Penny couldn't believe it.
Was Johnny Lawrence confessing his feelings?
