Chapter 25

Hazels POV
"Ok, first I have a question for you. How many of you have acted a certain way to please someone or to hide something?" I asked. They all raised their hands. "That's what I figured. Well, imagine tripling that act. You need to have emotions that you've never felt. You need to be dramatic and-" I got cut off by Hannah yawning. "Hannah. Please refrain from making your yawns so loud" I said. "Oh am I not allowed to yawn, drill Sargent?" She asked. I stepped up to her. "What exactly do you think you're doing?" I asked. "Drop the act Hazel. You're happy about this class because you get to control me. The one person that took your career away from you" she smirked. "And whos the better actress now?" I asked. "I don't know, how'd I do?" She asked snapping out of it. "Oh my lord. See, that right there people is what I'm looking for, now here. Go over these scripts as dramatically as possible. Lex I'll work with you" I said. "Sorry I got your feelings on that one sis" Hannah said. "You're fine Hannah. That was great" I said.

Pyros POV
"So what exactly are you going to teach us? How to blow stuff up?" Jaxy asked. "No jaxy. I'm here to teach you... HARPER! WHAT AM I DOING?" I yelled. Harper sighed and walked up to me. "You're teaching them to be fast and energetic. Remember?" Harper asked. "Ohhh. Right, ok, you'll be following me through that obstacle course forty times and if you get tired you fail" I said. "Ok that's a little harsh. We just want to see how long you'll last. Forty is the max alright?" Harper said. They all nodded. "Ok Pyro. Go ahead" Harper said. I started running the course and everyone followed behind me. After about ten laps they started to slow down. Jaxy, Lex, and Casey are doing fine.

Hannah made twenty laps. Casey made twenty eight laps. Jaxy made thirty four laps. Lex made thirty seven laps. "Even I cant do it that many times. Not to mention at that speed" Lex said. I looked at Shelby. She's not tired. The rest of them are. I think they were going to slow for her. "Shelby? Can you do the course with me alone?" I asked. "Um ok?" She said getting up. "You lead" I said. She nodded. Shelby is smaller than I am. She could be faster than me. She started and I followed. I was right. She finished while I was only 75% done. I stopped and she kept going. I watched and waited. She made all forty laps. She was heaving for breath. "Good job Shelby" I handed her some water. "Thanks" she took it. They'll get there.

Harpers POV
We have to make a plan. Its been two days. They're ready. "Ok, Hazel, Hannah, and I will get you all in. Ill let Harper, Casey and Pitch in from the back entrance. Hazel will take that helicopter to the roof with Jack for our escape. Hannah will open the hatch to the underground lair for Pyro and Shelby. That's where they're keeping Griffin" Lex said. "Is that where we saw that car submarine thing go?" I asked. "Yes, its separate from the MESA Inc building. Its near the coast. The building may not be as big but its still a fortress" Lex said. "So what are we doing?" Pitch asked. "Casey and I are gonna keep guard while you find Griffin. We know she's in the underground lair but we don't know where, so you'll find a different way under and try to find her. Hazel and Jack will keep guard on the roof, just incase someone tries to sabotage our escape" I said. "And what about them?" Pitch asked. "They're gonna try to find Griffin on the other side of the lair" I said. "Ok" Pitch said. "Are we all ready?" Lex asked. We nodded. "Lets go save Griffin" I said.

Griffins POV
I'm chained to the wall. My clothes are torn. Blood is dripping down my entire body. I can barely breathe. My arms are spread apart from my head. My feet are chained together, hanging down below me. It doesn't matter how much I struggle. It wont budge. Not that I have the strength to move anyway. I thought I was powerful. I thought I was strong but I'm not what Michael thought I was. I'm weak. Lex isn't aloud to come down here to see me. He knows that she'll free me. She doesn't know the torture he's put me through. I need her. Even if I was still tied up and being beat to death, having just the spirit of her would help me cope. Hell, I'd either hope for Lex or Pitch. Either of them would help me, but I wont see them anytime soon. I know they'll come for me eventually but they'll be too late. I'm almost gone. I'm ready to pass over. I just hope that my friends... no, that my family can forgive me for my foolishness. I'm so proud of them. I'm proud of how far they've come but I cant put them in danger anymore. I'm done fighting. I give up. "Bye girls. I'm sorry for everything but I cant keep this up anymore" I whispered to myself. I closed my eyes, slowly slipping into darkness.
