Prologue

When I was 12 years old, I woke up and yawned. I put my hands above my head to stretch but simultaneously, a bunch of small items from my room started floating. Almost like gravity disappeared. I still don't know how it happened or what I am, but nobody knows about my abilities.

My abilities are mind reading and some sort of telekinetic force.

Now 4 years later, I'm 16 and my mother and sister and I are moving to Forks. You see, our father wasn't really the nicest person. He would hit us and beat us but 5 days ago, my mother helped us escape and here we are, driving to our grandmothers house in Forks, Washington.

My sister, Max is also 16. She is older than me by a minute and a half but we are still twins. We are our own best friends. Max is a bit more social than me and she makes friends a lot easier than I do.

My mother on the other hand, used to work at a grocery store and will probably pursue her dream as a 3rd grade teacher here in Forks. My mother is really pretty and caring. She is the best at making people feel welcome.

My grandmother died a week ago, she left the house to my mother and now it is going to be our house. I don't think our father will find us for a while. We used to live all the way in Arizona and there are 49 other states that we could've gone to.

At school a few days later, Max and I pull up in the parking lot and we get out. We could feel people staring at us. We have one class together unless you count lunch. When we walk inside, Max walks to the other wing of the school.

I am all alone and I walk to my first class. The teacher seems cool and doesn't make me introduce myself in front of the whole class. I sit down and the rest of the day goes on without my sister until lunch.

It might seem a little slow now, but it will get much better!!
