Mind reader (Chapter 1)

At lunch, my sister is sitting with a bunch of other people. Of course she made friends already. I walk over to them and I sit down next to Max.

"This is Eleanor, my twin sister." Max says.

"Call me El." I say.

Max introduces me to her new friends and one of them are in every one of my classes. Bella Swan. She moved here to visit her dad a few weeks ago.

A few minutes later, a bunch of pale kids walk in. They all have the same eye color.

"Who are they?" I ask.

"Oh, those are the Cullens. Dr.Cullen and his sister Esme adopted them all. Except there is one really weird thing about them. They are all together. Alice is with Jasper and Emmett is with Rosalie. It's really weird." Jessica says.

"What about him?" I ask. I look at a pale kid with golden brown hair.

"That is Edward. He's totally gorgeous obviously. But apparently nobody here is good enough for him." She says.

I feel like something is suspicious. They all have the same colored eyes and the same skin color. I look over my shoulder and look at Edward. He is staring at me. I look into his mind and I see my own. I can see what I am thinking? Is Edward reading my mind? I stop looking into his mind and he looks at me with confusion. With shock. He knows that I know that he can read minds. I know that he knows that I can read minds.

I read Edwards mind and he is thinking, "What are you?" I stop looking and I think, "I could ask you the same thing."

After school, I walk out to my car and wait for Max. Edward sees me and walks towards me.

"What are you?" I ask.

"I could ask you the same thing." He says. He smirks.

"We need to talk about this somewhere else." I tell him.

"What about my place tomorrow at 7:00." Edward offers.

"Sounds good." I say.

Edward walks away.

I see Max walk out of the school and she walks towards me.

"Hey sis, I'm catching a ride with Mike. We are heading to a little cafe. I'll see you tonight." She walks away.

I sigh and get in my car. I drive home and I see a note on the table that says, "might be home a little late. There are some subs in the fridge. -Mom" I grab a sub and start eating it. I then hear a honking car outside. I run outside to see my mothers car and she is waving for me to get in.

I get in and ask, "Where are we going?"

"Your sister got in a car crash, we need to get to the hospital." She says.

I don't know what to think. The hospital?!?!?! My sister is in the hospital right now!?!?! My heartbeat increases and the ride to the hospital was very short.

My mother and I run in to the front desk. The desk lady leads us to the hospital room and Max is laying on the medical bed with a wrap on her wrist.

"Sis! Are you ok?!" I ask.

"Yeah, I'm fine. El come here." She says.

I walk over to her and she whispers in my ear, "Dr. Cullen is my doctor. He is so good lookin." We both laugh. Of course right now would be the time to talk about men that are years older than us. We look at each other and laugh again.
