Awake (Chapter 11)

I wake up in a bed, surrounded by windows. I look to my left and I see Carlisle. I immediately sit up to hug him but I groan in pain and lay back. 

"Owwwww. My shoulder is killing me." I say. Carlisle hugs me.

"I'm so glad you're ok." He says.

"Listen Carlisle, I'm really sorry. I should've told you guys but he threatened to hurt Max and.." Carlisle interrupts me.

"El, it's fine. I understand." Carlisle says.

"Ugghh." I groan. "My whole body hurts." I say.

"I'll go get you some meds." Carlisle says. He leaves the room at normal human speed. Then I see Max. 

"Max!!" I yell.

"El!!" Max yells back. She runs into the room and hugs me immediately. "I'm so sorry for how I acted a few days ago. I got you into this mess." She says.

"Max, it's not your fault. You were freaked out because I was making a plate float. It must've been so confusing for you." I say. We both hug and Max leaves once Carlisle walks back in.

"I've got you some painkillers." Carlisle says.

"Thanks." I say. I take the painkillers and then I talk with Carlisle for a bit. There is a knock on the door an hour later. "Come in." I say. Emmett walks in. 

"Heyyy!!" Emmett says. "It's the most badass girl I've ever met!" 

I laugh and my stomach starts to hurt because of the huge glass cut but I ignore it. I am just happy to see Emmett.

"How about after you heal, we go play a game of baseball." Emmett says, smiling.

I smile and laugh. "Sounds like a good idea." Emmett chuckles. He and I joke around and laugh while Carlisle is at work.

A few weeks later, I just figured out how to walk again and Emmett and I are in the living room laughing our heads off. It is about 10:30 at night so Carlisle should be home soon. I start getting tired and my head falls onto Emmett's shoulder.

Emmett lets out a small laugh and puts on a funny show. I am still a little bit awake and I am peeking at the TV. Someone in the show falls down a flight of stairs and Emmett and I can't stop laughing.

"I thought you were asleep." Emmett laughs.

"So did I." I say as I laugh.

Carlisle walks in and sees Emmett and I practically dying on the couch.

"What are guys laughing at now?" Carlisle asks.

Emmett replays the guy falling down the stairs on a 3 minute loop and we can't stop laughing. Carlisle rolls his eyes and lets out a little laugh.

A few days later, it is Bella's 18th birthday and she is over at the Cullens house. Emmett is standing next to Edward. 

"Dating an older woman, hot." Emmett says, smiling at Edward. I start laughing and Edward laughs a bit.

Bella opens her presents but then gets a papercut on the ribbon of one. It all happened in a second. Jasper jumped and ran at Bella. Edward yeeted Bella across the room, causing more blood. As soon as I know it, I am with Carlisle in his office with Bella.

"Well, happy birthday Bells." I say. Trying to make her laugh.

Bella smiles a little. "Thanks."
