Today is the day that Lucas finally plays his match, he's been waiting since last semester to play this game due to covid cancelling last years final game so they exchange it to this day. I could literally feel Lucas nerves building up as I watch him stretch out with his mates on the field as they all pass the ball amongst each other.

I'm sitting with his folks except Emilie and Elijah. It was too late and cold for Elijah to come so they are watching it live on tv.

I lean against the bars on the ground so if anything happens we could just hop over the bars. I'm wearing his jersey jacket which he recommended me to but I was worried that some others would think differently. Because the rule in our school is you only wear the jersey if it's the player themselves or there significant other.

I was excited to wear it but at the same time did Lucas even think that others would think but he just assured me for me worrying about him not open yet. That it's fine and I am his best friend so they shouldn't have to think twice about it but I think it's a sign that he is slowly opening up.

I'm really happy for him. I am I wish someone was there for me when I was coming out but knowing that Lucas didn't have to go through this alone I am really happy.

Alex taps my shoulder as I look away from my boy whose in the bundle now before game starts which in three minutes by the time. I look at Alex who hands me a coffee which I hate but I will take because it was nice of him to get me one but I brought myself a water bottle already so I'm okay.

"Thanks bro" I smiled as he nods before sitting down eating his Oreos. I swear he's going to turn into a fucking Oreo one day.

I look back at Lucas who scans the crowd but thinking that I was always up high in the stands he was looking there. He frowns when he doesn't see me before the whistle blows for game time.

The crowd gets to their feet with the signs raised in the air as the cheerleaders chant there words or whatever cheerleaders chant.

"Bash bash oh my gosh westbound high is going to kick your ass... GO TIBERWOLVES" they chant as I try to get that out of my head.

Couldn't you have said Holy Spirit activate?

The game starts off slow with Lucas team holding back as the defenders pass the ball along the ground amongst each other while doing so they push themselves up. Derby high school wouldn't let that go as they kept trying to get the ball off from them.

I see my boy getting into action as one of the four mid-fielders. His a few metres away from the centre half line as he shouts across to his teammate, Gavin Murphy. He passes the ball swiftly across the grass landing right in between Lucas left foot.

He turns quickly running up the field with much speed as he looks around for his other teammates.

The game continues on for awhile with good formation and the other team getting frustrated from our team keep on messing with their heads of going back and forth.

Sadly right before half time no team has scored yet as the crowd gets anxious for next half to start. I see Lucas in the distance as he sips his blue Gatorade as he scans the crowd while doing so. His green emerald eyes land on mine front row with a big smile on my face.
