TW for drug overdose, depression, etc.
Katsuki and you spent the next few hours eating and laughing while watching movies.
His presence alone was enough to ground you again, but the food and weed along with the horror movie marathon currently playing due to it being October was also helping you to forget, if only for the moment, the events from earlier.
"Seriously? What is about this Ghostface guy? Why does everyone have such a hard on for him?" Katsuki scoffed before taking a hit of the blunt and passing it over to you, as you giggled at his reaction to Scream playing on the tv.
"It's just everything. The height, the silence when he's with you - it's just a dominating presence and I can't lie I'm right there on that simp train with them." You laughed as he rolled his eyes.
"Tch. Friday the 13th is literally so much better."
It was your turn to scoff at him, almost making you cough up a lung as you inhaled.
"In what" you tried to catch your breath "way is that better? It's not even the same kind of genre of horror."
"It's a classic. Teenagers have sex, they get butchered, the next round comes in and does it again. I like simplicity." He shrugged as if he stated the obvious.
"More like predictability." You smiled at him, watching him roll his eyes at you again.
You both continued talking about the movies, until a comfortable silence fell over you both as the blunt came down to a roach.
You were first to speak, leaning your head back against the couch cushion looking up into the blank white ceiling, your mind and body up in the clouds.
"Thank you. For this."
You didn't turn to look at him but you felt his eyes on you.
"You don't have to thank me. I like hanging out with you. Even if your taste in horror movies is shit."
A laugh left your mouth, smile widening on your face as you lifted your head from the couch to look over at him, who was watching you from the corner of his eyes with a soft smile on his face.
"I will say, and you don't have to respond to this, but if you needed to talk. I'm, uh, a good listener. I think." You could hear the hesitation in his voice.
You sighed and laid your head back again.
"Shit. Sorry. I didn't mean to ruin-" you raised a hand, making him pause.
"It's okay. I've...never tried talking about it. Not to anyone who would actually care to listen and not be paid to anyways." You chewed on your bottom lip.
Katsuki was silent, but he turned to face you, one elbow on the back of the couch propping his head up on his hand as the other laid in his lap. He was letting you take your time to tell him whatever you were comfortable with.
Clearing your throat, you fidgeted with the hem of your shirt anxiously before you began speaking again.
Flashback
You were alone that night, no different from every other night. Your parents had been off to do some social event, which you quickly opted out of when they tried to drag you along.
'A bunch of rich pricks trying to subtly outdo each other? No thanks.'
People were exhausting. Everything was exhausting lately. You felt like you were stuck down in some pit, the mud creeping higher up your legs with every passing thought and keeping you secure to the bottom.
