After settling your things into your room, you shifted nervously in the living room as you waited for your parents to join you and Katsuki.

You had lived here your whole life, but it never once felt like home. You couldn't relax here.

Hearing the click of your mother's heels sounding through the hallway, you lifted your eyes and watched her carry in a tray loaded with tea and various finger foods.

"Thank you." You reached for a cup of tea, Katsuki mimicking your movements stiffly.

At least I'm not the only feeling awkward...

The silence in the room was suffocating, and only making your anxiety rise higher. So many words to be said and nobody brave enough to start them.

"Are you two excited for your winter break?" Your father finally broke the silence as he entered the room, taking a seat beside your mother on the couch opposite the both of you.

"Sure. It's nice having a break from studying." You replied, fidgeting with the cup in your hands.

Katsuki just gruffed a "sure" in response, forcing you to fight back the smile threatening to split across your face at his rough demeanor.

Your father didn't seem phased by the semi rude reply.

"So, Bakugo. What's your intentions with my daughter?"

You choked on your tea, sputtering out a "fucking seriously" at his question, causing your mother to scold you for the language.

Katsuki kept his cool, and had a response ready for your father.

"My intentions are to be everything Y/N wants and needs. I want to be there for her. She deserves that, and more."

You didn't miss the underlying meaning to his words, and your eyes widened at them, internally panicking at how your parents would respond.

Simply nodding his head thoughtfully, your father wrapped an arm around the shoulder of your mother who looked just as tense as you.

Seemingly not finished, your father spoke again.

"I see. I will say I am glad Y/N has someone like you in her corner. I will admit we were not the best parents for her, and we've come to this realization a little too late. I'm only hoping that she could give us both a second chance at trying to get it right."

Feeling your breath hitch in your chest, you looked at them shocked, along with Katsuki who seemed equal parts surprised and suspicious at the admittance.

"Would.....would you let us make it up to you, Y/N?" Your mother spoke finally, tears lining her eyes as she waited your response.

Trying to collect your swarming thoughts, you felt Katsuki gently grasp your hand to remind you he was there for you.

Taking a deep breath, you replied.

"What you both did, or didn't do, for me truly fucked me up. It made me untrusting, resentful, and even more introverted than I was to begin with."

Your parents shoulders slumped into the couch, but you continued.

"But...despite all of that...your still my parents and the fact that I see you trying now...makes me want to try and let you...but it's not going to happen overnight." Cutting your eyes to them, letting the weight of your words sink in for them.

Your mother smiled at you understandinly as a single stream of tears began to run down her cheeks.

"Can I please hug you sweetie? W-Would that be okay?" She clasped her hands together nervously, but a small smile was visible on her face.

"Uhm...okay.." you slowly stood up and met her halfway as she wrapped her arms around you tightly and you loosely put your own around her, allowing her to squeeze you gently until she released you and you took a step back to return to the couch with Katsuki.

After the tense and awkward conversation, your parents continued with various small talk until your father received a call, and announced that he and your mother had some business to attend to so it left you and Katsuki free to do as you pleased.

"Wanna get outta here for a bit?" He nudged your side as you laid sprawled on the bed beside him.

"Thought you'd never ask." You hopped off the bed and followed him eagerly out the door.

Sitting down at a nearby restaurant, you both places your orders and you leaned back against the booth, sighing heavily.

"Is it going as you expected?" Katsuki asked before taking a drink.

"Not really. I mean I don't know, I guess. I don't know what I was expecting really, but a full apology wasn't it for sure." You shrugged.

He nodded at your words.

"Did you appreciate it?"

Always asking the straight questions.

"I...I guess. I mean to hear it in person, felt...nice. Hugging my mom was weird as hell though. I can't remember the last time we ever did." You replied honestly.

Katsuki studied you, reaching across the table to take your hand.

"I am glad you met them though...I think it went well? I truly wanted to die when my dad asked you that question though." You rolled your eyes.

He chuckled. "Didn't bother me any. I'm glad he asked. I wanted you to hear my reply anyways."

His confident smirk had you smiling widely, despite your unease at being back in your home for the weekend.

Finishing up your food, you both leisurely walked back to the house, neither of you eager to get back to any awkward interactions with your parents.

Walking into the house, you didn't hear anything so you assumed your parents were still off doing whatever they were needing too still.

"Alone, huh?" Katsuki asked and you nodded your head in reply as you made your way to your old room with him in tow behind you.

As you walked in your heard him push the door shut and the soft click of the lock, making you turn to him with an eyebrow raised.

He slowly stalked over to you, and you felt your heartbeat quicken at the look in his eyes.

Reaching out to run his hands softly up your sides, he pulled you closer to him, your chests almost touching.

"Your so tense baby." He leaned in, kissing your cheek softly, before moving his mouth closer to your ear where he pressed a soft kiss to the shell of your ear, causing a shudder through you.

"Let me help you relax."

I missed the smut, you missed the smut, we all missed the smut
