Grayson's POV
I didn't leave Melanie's side throughout the whole time I've been here.
Melanie had a miscarriage which was really hard on me but I can't imagine how it would be for her.
She was put into a very deep sleep throughout the whole surgery & procedures.
I sat by her hospital bed.
I looked at her as she slept. She looked so peaceful.
I remember how she would look at me when we kissed back when we were together.
I never knew so much could happen from one night her & I shared.
I put my forehead against her's.
"I love you." I whispered.
I felt her grasp my hand.
I looked at her.
"I love you too." She said with a weak smile.
I smiled & gently hugged her trying not to hurt her.
She tried to sit up.
"Ow." She said.
I placed a pillow on her back trying to make her more comfortable.
She looked at me. And studied my face for a while until I gave her a silly look.
She giggled.
"Ha, sorry. I'm just trying to imagine...what he would have looked like." Mel said talking about the baby.
"He would have been gorgeous because of you." I said.
She grabbed my hand.
"Why did life take him away from me? I wanted him." She said.
"Babe, I...I don't know."
She cried.
"He was my little boy, my little prince. I...I never got a chance to hold him. Or see his little face." She sobbed.
I started crying.
"He's in a better place now. He will always be thinking of us just the way we will always be thinking of him. He's ours, no one can take that away." I said.
She looked at me.
"I wish we could just go back to when things were simpler." She said.
"When everything was just a game."
She grabbed my face & looked me for a moment. Then she kissed me.
I felt so at peace, so happy almost like a dream.

I opened my eyes & I was laying down on a bed next to her. I sat up.
I saw that I was with her.
I heard baby cries.
"I'll get Aiden. Lay back down, babe." Melanie said.
I sighed with relief.

It was all a dream.

The whole miscarriage thing.
We moved out & started raising our baby on our own the way I wanted. She didn't give him up for adoption.
She came in with our little baby boy in her arms & laid on the bed with us.
He was such a gorgeous baby. He smiled at me.
"My little boy. What a cutie." I said as I carried him.
I looked at Melanie & she looked so happy.
I was happy.
I realized in that moment that if this whole thing with Melanie didn't happen, I would have never had this beautiful blessing in my life.
I never imagined that this is the way things would turn out over a game.
But it wasn't just a game, it was more.
