"So, when are you going to propose to Izuku, Shoto?"

"I'm working on it," Shoto answers Momo as they patrol the city, just the two of them, for any potential Villains, "I just need to find the right ring."

Momo hums. "Well, you'd better hurry. Someone else might capture Izuku's heart before you manage to propose."

Shoto sends Momo a cold look. "That's not gonna happen."

"Hm? Don't act so sure. Izuku's a handsome guy. I'm sure there are plenty of guys and girls out there trying to steal his heart."

"Izuku is mine," Shoto sneers, her jeers awakening something dark and feral within him. "And I'll be damned before I let anyone else worm their way into his heart."

Momo smirks. Shoto scowls.

She then laughs.

"Man... Izuku sure is lucky to have a boyfriend like you, Shocchan."

"Tch. Luck had nothing to do with it."

--------------------------------------------------------

"Kacchan?" Izuku trembles, feeling like a fragile child again, "Is that really you?"

"Does anyone else have a crummy nickname like that?"

"But... but..."

Fuck, is Izuku starting to cry?

"I thought..." Izuku whispers. "I thought that you were dead."

Kacchan glares at Izuku.

"You really are an idiot, Izuku. So I go missing for more than a decade. Doesn't mean I'm fucking dead, moron."

Izuku stares up at him through wild, dark green bangs.

"Were you the one who caused that explosion?" Izuku doesn't want to know the answer. "That explosion that destroyed our middle school? That was all over the news?"

"Technically, yeah."

Izuku purses his lip.

"Why?" Izuku asks numbly.

Kacchan stares at Izuku like he's stupid.

Probably because he is.

"Tch," Kacchan says to the two other men, "Let's go."

--------------------------------------------------------

"Kacchan!" Izuku shouts, but Katsuki ignores his childhood friend's sobs as the blond and his men uses their Quirks to flee the scene.

Those tears are the source of Katsuki's misery, and he'll be damned before he ever listens to them again.

--------------------------------------------------------

As Kacchan and his two men leave, Izuku stays rooted where he is, sobbing.

He never thought he could feel like this before.

And he's fucking nearly thirty.

"Kacchan... Kacchan." Izuku sobs as he wraps his arms around himself.

Izuku thought that the bridge between Kacchan and him burned the day their school did, but.

It looks like fate has other plans.
