June 12 2:30 p.m

I had done nothing but cry after what happened yesterday.

Ayden was gone. He was angry at me and rightfully so because I had been a liar who kept everything away from him. Oliver found me shortly after and he stayed all night in my room to comfort me. I fell asleep after all the crying and he left a note the next morning that he had to take care of some things regarding Viki.

I had pushed her away too. I called Kat, hoping she’d answer but when Alfonso answered the phone instead, I gasped.

“C-ceci?” He answered quizzically and I sighed in relief.

“Alfonso! Thank goodness you’re okay!” I cried out and he quickly said he’d come over to my room. When he knocked on my door, minutes later, I opened it and he wrapped me in an embrace I missed, his strong arms around me like the protective shield I needed now.

“You’re okay,” I breathed out and he grinned at me, flicking my nose softly.

“Of course, patrona. We’re Espositos after all. We have to fulfill our duty always until we’re dust and bones,” I chuckled and he wrapped an arm around me while Kat chuckled.

“You two know each other?” she asked and both Alfonso and I locked eyes. They would never know the things we went through, the sacrifices we made and the things we lost to get here.

“Of course I do. Since she was little, actually,” Alfonso winked at me and I scowled at him as he quickly dismissed himself and I started chuckling, glancing at Kat.

“So, you and Alfonso huh?”

“God, no. I was actually in Francesca's room. We were… chatting before her brother came and when it rang, he snatched it away from me and answered. I promise my scouts honor,” she said quickly and I started laughing.

“Ayden knows everything,”

“I know. Francesca told me that she told him,” I hung up on Kat and walked out of the room, the rage rolling over in waves. So that would be the bitch I’d have to beat up today. I didn’t care if she was Alfonso’s sister, I’d make her pay.

When I reached her room, I let myself in and Francesca smiled at me.

“Cecilia, I can explain-” I cut her short when I slapped her across the face and she slid her leg to trip me as she pulled out a gun, placing it on my head and Kat screamed while Alfonso rolled his eyes at his sister.

“Franny, you threw us under the bus.”

“Does it look like I care? She’d find out one way or another. If my limp didn’t give it away, then this is a clear sign of who we are,” I gawked at her while my cheek brushed up against the fluffy rug in her room.

“Cecilia Antonelli. You know what we are. Your mother hired us to keep a close eye on you. When Viki told her you met someone, she wanted us to keep an eye on him too. We were hired by your mother and he needed to know what he was getting into. I wasn’t able to convince Kat to tell me your secrets, but I figured you were too much of a chicken to tell the truth,”

“Well then, is that how you treat the daughter of a mob boss?” I gritted out and she let go, putting the gun away and smirking at me.

“Use the name when it’s convenient for you, huh? We are supposed to take care of you. There’s rumors about there being an infiltrate who wants to turn you in to your father, so we need to get you out of here,”

“Why do I have to leave whenever you all please? Don’t I get a say in what the hell I wanna do? My mother has no control over my life.” I snarled at her and Alfonso raised his hands up.
