One Big Mistake(on hold)

I take a deep breath and look back at the stairs. This can make all of my issues go away. Everything can go back to normal after this. I close my eyes, put my right leg forward and begin to lean back. My whole body starts to shift downwards but a hand quickly yanks me forward and I crash onto a hard chest.

"Ella what the hell are you thinking!? You could have gotten seriously hurt! Have you seen these stairs!? They're not carpet!" my eyes don't open I just hear a heart racing. I'm pretty sure it's not mine. "Ella.... I love you. You can't do this to yourself. To them... To us." a hand reaches for my chin so I can look at their face. I open my eyes to see Dwayne staring at me worried.

"I wasn't... thinking," I whisper and tears start to fill up my eyes. Dwayne leans in and kisses me, this time I let him. He doesn't ask for much he just gently presses his lips against mine then pulls me into a hug.

I spend the next two days alone with Dwayne and we just chill. When I go back to school the texts keep on coming but I completely ignore them. I don't plan on telling Nick about the kiss or the fact that in fact I did cuddle with Dwayne. I am gonna tell my friends though.

When lunch period approaches I get excited and sit down at my usual table with my best friends. We aren't the only ones at the table but we tune everyone out and pretend like they're not there. Sophie sits in front of me blushing while Austin carries a smirk on his face while whispering into her ear. Anisa sits besides Sophie and looks down at her phone. Must be texting her sister, she used to sit here but now she sits with her boyfriend at the "cool kids" table and its like we don't even exist.

"Hey Ella how's things with Dwayne considering you're practically living with him," Anisa says smiling at me

"Don't get jealous its only been two days,"

"yea well its been pretty boring at my house now that Annabelle doesn't even look at me. I tried to separate her from her boyfriend but apparently all that did was just bring them even more together," she shrugs and takes a bite into her apple.

"Well I do have to tell you guys something.... but Austin is gonna have to go," I look at Sophie and Austin. It's like they're in their own world, if Austin wasn't such a player and I trusted him I would think they are the cutest thing ever.

Sophie looks at me, then Austin and laughs. She kisses him and he walks over to Dwayne's table.

"Ok so how are things?" Sophie asks still blushing

I tell them everything, the stairs, the kiss the "i love you" and their face is literally blank I stare at them trying to find an explanation.

"What about Nick?" Anisa asks

"Um I haven't really thought about him."

"Have anything else happened between you and Dwayne?" Sophie asks concerned

"Well we kissed, he said I love you and he hugs me and wraps his arms around me but that's it." I look at Anisa then Sophie.

My phone vibrates and I look down to see it

I hope you're happy with MY man you slut!- Maria

Sophie takes my phone and her face gets angry.

"Why are people bullying you so much!? It's like they've never seen a pregnant teenager before!" She scrolls through my phone then throws it at me. Luckily I catch it and Sophie gets up to where Maria is sitting. She's in tears and her friends are comforting her. I'm guessing Dwayne broke up with her. Sophie stops in front of her and slaps her hard on her cheek. Her hand leaves a red mark on Maria's cheek and the whole cafeteria is watching.
