||Rebounding happiness||

Lasya was happily humming a song while looking outside. As the buildings pass by, she knows her life will be better from now onwards. She turned to look at Shravas, who was driving the car, with a smile. She felt happy somehow; after all these years of struggles and unhappiness, she deserved to be in full happiness, and it was only possible when they started loving each other.

"Thank you, Shravas for coming into my life. I owe you my life for loving me and for giving me my happiness, back", Lasya said softly while touching his palms.

"No need to thank me, my little hearts. If there is someone who must be grateful, then it is me here because if you didn't reciprocate my love, then I would have been devastated and I wouldn't be able to live happily", Shravas murmured, taking her palms in his hands and kept over his thigh.

Lasya felt touched, hearing his words, and the position of her hand over his mid-thigh made her stomach churn with anticipation about their future. She licked her dry lips and gulped down the erupting inferno that was ready to encapsulate her into his world of never-ending love.

But, she has seen people falling out of love after some years of their relationship, and she wanted to question it. But, in the meantime, Shravas beat her with an answer for her unasked question, "And now don't overthink. In this life, we will be together in love, like now and always, and we will be happy until we die. I am not going to stop loving you now, or ever. If that's what you want to know"

Lasya sighed in assurance while caressing his palms, "I know, but it's the life we are uncertain of..."

"Don't think about it. Just go with the flow. I am sure our Lord is with us in every stepping stone. So, be positive,  cherish the present, and stop wondering about the future." Shravas cut her in the middle and soothed her soul with soulful words.

Lasya nodded and tried to take her hand. But Shravas was tightening the hold.

"Leave my hand, Shravas", Lasya tried to pull.

"Nope, let it be there for some time. It feels good and I feel content"

"Please, for God's sake, we are on the highway. It is not good to have a distraction." Lasya tried to make him understand but failed miserably.

"You are not a distraction, Lasya, but my determination to do the best in life," Shravas said, looking intently at her as they stopped at the red signal.

Lasya's neck turned crimson from all the warmth, and she could feel her face burning with, what? Love maybe!

"Aww, you are so beautiful," Shravas pinched her cheek, and she removed her hand from his hold without him realizing it.

He gave her a not-so-fair look! And in turn, Lasya chuckled seeing his antics.

Shravas honked the car, and the security staff opened the gate for them.

Upon reaching, Lasya took a deep breath and calmed her nerves. It's now or never.

She has come to get her Ritchie back, but then she knows she has to face his family and they might have questions for her. She is ready to answer them.

'God, please let Shravas's parents accept me', Lasya prayed mentally.

She sighed, got out of the car, and stood awkwardly not knowing what to expect.

But to her happiness, Shravas came to her side quickly took her hands in his, and started walking towards the main door.

"Don't worry; everything is going to be alright," Shravas whispered, tightening her hold and ringing the bell.
