"My son is indeed a good man"

"Part - 1"

Shravas was all tensed when he finally reached his home.

"Dad, Dad!" He started calling out

"In the bedroom" came his response.

Shravas sighed and quickly walked to his parent's bedroom. There he saw his mom lying on the bed with her eyes closed. His heart was beating faster not in any Romantic way but in a grief-stricken way.

"Dad, what happened to mom all of a sudden? Why are her eyes closed? She was all healthy this morning before I headed to college" He nervously asked, taking her palms on his, lovingly.

His dad gestured him to be silent as his mom is sleeping. He also patted his hand on the bed asking to sit beside him. Shravas did as he asked.

"It's nothing son. Please don't worry. The doctor said it's because of a sudden decrease in her blood pressure and now she is in sedatives so she is sleeping other than that there is nothing else to worry about" his dad said but he was looking very sad.

Shravas's Dad, Mr.Anand is a reputed successful businessman and along with that, he is also successful in his marriage life. Unlike other busy people, he always gave his time to his family above anything.

One such day, he was busy with his board of directors meeting when Shravas wanted to spend some time with him. Anand knows the meeting was very important but couldn't deny his family especially his son's request. Leaving in between the meeting, he went to spend some time with his family. During the times, he has faced so many lose still, he never compromised his time for family. Such a family person he was.

When comes to his wife, he has always been there loving and was a doting husband to her. He was always reachable for her and it was his demand, that she has to call or has to come openly when it is about her needs. Likewise, they had a happy life and they are blessed with three loving kids.

Shravas kept his hand on his dad's shoulders and smiled at him.

"Everything will be an alright dad. My mom is very strong and she can bear anything. Just wait and see she will be running here and there doing all our work from tomorrow." Shravas knows he needs to be strong for his dad cause one negative word from him will make his dad feel vulnerable which he doesn't want.

"I am proud of you my son. You know how to live. You are being Strong now. I am glad we have you." His dad caressed his son's head lovingly.

"Nothing like that dad. You all make me strong. Without you both, nothing seems to be impossible and our family is very important for me in my life." Shravas said feeling proud. Listening to his words, his dad beamed with happiness.

"Okay Dad, let mom take some rest while I go and freshen up." His dad nods and Shravas is about to get up from the bed when they saw Sheetal at the doorstep with tears pooled in her eyes.

Shravas's heart clenched with pain seeing his little sister in worry. He opened his arms as wide as possible for his sister to come and embrace him. As soon as he did, she grinned widely and came running to his arms. He took her into a sweet brotherly embrace and hugged her tightly.

"Bro, what happened to our mom? Is she alright? Why are her eyes closed? Is she sleeping?" Sheetal asked in one go sobbing in Shravas's arms. She snuggled closer into the crook of his neck. Their dad was staring at them lovingly looking at their bond.

He indeed knew Shravas is a good and very mature son comparing to his elder son Sujan, who is a bit reserved and always been a workaholic. Even though he is married in a hurry, his wife is of no use to the family. All she does is working and work without caring for anyone or anything else.

Sujan is very concerned regarding his married life but he is trying to adjust to make it a bliss not letting others especially his family members know about it. But little did he know, everyone in the family knows except Sheetal.

Sujan loved Shivani so much and hence they got tied into this beautiful relationship called marriage. But once after the marriage, she seems to have lost interest in him and always keeps herself busy at work. She continues to travel due to her work and day by day it seems their relationship is drifting apart.

'hope my Sujan gets his love life back.' his dad wished in his mind.

Shravas patted her back slowly making her calm down.

"Baby girl, don't you cry, please. Our mom doesn't like tears in your eyes. She is alright and now she is sleeping hence her eyes are closed. There is nothing to worry about. Okay, don't worry baby." He whispered good things to her by slowly rubbing her back.

Sheetal pulled herself away from him and stared at him.

"Thanks, bro. You are very sweet. I am very lucky to have you as my brother. I love you." She chirped in her baby voice happily.

Shravas hugged her tightly and whispered 'i love you too baby girl' back to her.

She smiled at him.

Shravas asked her to go and do her school work.

He then got up and went to his room to freshen up.

After his shower, he quickly headed downstairs to the kitchen to cook something special for his family.

He was searching the kitchen cabinets to make something mild for his mom and something Italian for others.

He got what he wanted and started to indulge in the preparation of the same. Even though there were maids at work, who shall cook for them still he didn't allow them instead gave them an off from work.

Happily, everyone left the place and Shravas was cooking by singing and dancing.

He prepared his favorite, Penna pesto, and a sweet vegetable soup for his mom.

The aroma was wildly spreading the living room making Sheetal, jump from her chair, and run towards the kitchen.

"Bro, wow you made Pesto", she cooed happily.

"Yes and we will have it together soon", Shravas said ruffling her hair lovingly.

Along with this, he set the dining table for everyone and then thought to call others to join for the dinner as it is already time.

Reaching his parent's room, he knocked on the door gaining their attention. His mom was all up and was resting over the headboard while thinking something.

"Mom", Shravas called out and listening to him, she opened her eyes and had a smile on her face upon seeing him.

"Vasu, come my son", She called out, stretching her arms towards Shravas.

"How are you mom?", he asked hugging her and both of them had tears in their eyes.

His father was looking at them all lovingly and adorned a smile.

Sheetal who witnessed everything started jumping happily.

"I am good. It's just a minor thing. No need to worry", his mom tried to convince.

"Without your mom, we are zero. You should remember that and you have to take care of yourself as you are not doing it for a few days, please for us at least!", Shravas requested while pulling away from the hug.

Understanding, and agreeing to him, she nods her head.

"So okay then, let's get going to have something tasty!", Shravas said, taking her hand in his and pulling along.
