"Goa trip"
|Part - 1|
********
The last note was that night during the pizza day. She didn't hear from him again. Now after her work schedule at the library she left the place and now she is sitting in the park instead of returning to her home to freshen up and getting ready to go to the next work but here she is enjoying the evening looking around the families playing with their loved ones.
She has only Ritchie by her side and she is on a secluded corner bench of the park. She bought a sandwich and a Coke cause she is not in a mood to go the home and cook food.
"I think I should call my store manager and inform him about not coming to duty today. Yes, I have to do it." She thought and dialed the market manager's number. After a few rings, he picks up.
"Hello, Samson speaking?" He said.
She inhales deeply and formed some words to convince him.
"Hey Samson, Lasya here. I have called you to inform that I am afraid to tell you that I'm not feeling well so I may not be able to make up for work. Will that be fine with you?" Lasya asked with doubt.
"Well, to be frank, it's not okay cause you know the hectic hours and these days more customers are attracted to our supermarket. So cashiers are very important but I also know health is more important than anything else. So I wouldn't mind to give you an off today without a loss of pay. I hope you will take care and come back to work on Monday evening with a refreshing look. What say?" He said it in one go and she was here wondering what and how to convince him since he is very tough to handle.
"Really? I thought you wouldn't agree with me and will make me work for you today? I didn't know you will allow me to be myself today" she asked couldn't believe her ears.
He lets out a soft chuckle before replying to her. "Oh, I know you well. Since you have joined here, you never took unnecessary offs and now there might be a situation where you want to feel better so yeah, enjoy and take care. Don't come into me and tell me again that you are not well. Did u get that Lasya?"
She giggled lowly and "yes sir, thanks much. I owe you this time. I needed this off now especially today. So thank you once again and good night sir"
"Okay, good sleep and if you ever need anything else please let me know and don't hesitate ok. You know you are like my daughter." He said genuinely.
This made her feel light and happy. He always knows how to handle her mood.
"Yup, I know. Thanks for being there bye" she said.
"Bye, see you on Monday" he cuts the call.
She also hung up the call and pushed inside her pants pocket.
After the call, she heaved a sigh and sipped her coke, while munching on to her sandwich at regular intervals.
All of a sudden, she started getting hiccup without nonstop. She looked above for few seconds and when she confirmed it has been subsided, she drank the remaining coke.
"Who the hell is thinking about me while I am having something?" She questioned herself irritatedly.
Wiping her lips she threw the coke tin and sandwich wrapper into the trashcan and made her way again towards the bench to which she was sitting a while ago.
She then continued watching kids playing in the slider. Meanwhile, one kid came to her and gave a note.
"Sister, here please take this note. This is for you. A brother, over there gave it to me asking to pass it on to you. So I am here. Thanks bye." Saying so, he handed over the note and left in a blink.
