꧁*。 Angela *。゚꧂
"Rettá honey, you about ready to go?"
I place my ear rings on while going upstairs to her room. Looking through the opening of the bathroom door, I see Omerettà with a melancholy expression as she looks at herself in the mirror. My babygirl is in a really dark place right now and I hate it...
Knocking before I enter, I ask, "Hey, you okay?"
"Yea, I'm good," she says while giving me a fake smile and picking up her phone.
"Something is bothering you. What's really wrong hon?"
"I-I don't think I want to go anymore..."
"Why?"
Omerettà stays silent, shaking her head. "Talk to me."
She glances at herself in the mirror before shortly looking away. "Every time I look at myself I feel so ugly...I haven't felt like this in a while..."
I walk behind her and softly lift her head up towards the mirror whispering, "Well, when I look at you, I see something totally different. I see a strong, intelligent, caring, loving, and very beautiful young woman. I also see someone who used to be scared as hell of cooking grease but now she's not."
Omerettà giggles a little making me smile.
"I see someone that despite how much people have mistreated them, they prevail in spite of it all. She's perfectly made in every single way and she is so special. You are enough just as you are Amaria and if no one else told you today, I love you so much."
"I love you to."
Giving her a hug, she smiles softly. "It's ok if you're not comfortable with going, we can probably find something else t-"
"No, I know you want to so we can."
"Are you sure? You know I don't mind skipping out."
"I'm positive, we can go."
꧁*。 The Gala... *。゚꧂
In all honesty, I didn't even want to come to this fundraising gala. Melvin loved dragging me along to these events to flaunt our (technically my) success with other guys.
The only reason I'm here is because a new philanthropist I'm interested in working with will be here.
Besides that, almost all of the people here are weird for different reasons, so I'm going to make sure not to let Omerettà out of my sight for too long.
As soon as we enter, Janet Stewart looks directly at me and begins to come over. She must have heard rumors about Melvin and I because she never comes up to talk with me like she has been recently.
"Angelaaaa, it's been centuries since I seen you! How have you been?"
Girl I just seen you a few weeks ago.
"I'm well, how are you?"
"I'm doing great. The law firm has kept me quite busy. You remember my husband Caleb right?"
I nod and greet him before Janet looks over at Omerettà asking, "So, who is your guest you brought this evening?"
"This is Omerettà. Omerettà this is Janet Stewart. She's the owner of Stellar Legal."
Omerettà smiles a bit and they shake hands.
"Nice to meet you. Wow, you two truly resemble. Are you guys related?"
"No, but a lot of people say the same thing."
"How did you find her Angela, it's like she's a mini you! Now I want a mini me! Do you have any friends that look like me," she asks Omerettá.
