"Hey, can you go to Whole Foods for me please? Particularly the one in D.C."
"Why that one?"
"They have more variety and I can always find what I need there instead of the one here. I would go but I have so much work to catch up on."
"Okay, that's fine."
"Thank you, here's my list. It's not much but if you want to add anything you can."
I give Omerettá my card and the grocery list I had. When I first got my car my mom would love to send me to the grocery store, so I kinda like to send Omerettá to get things for the house.
"Drive safely, okay?"
"Okay, I will."
She picks up her purse and heads out the door.
Not too long later after, I hear the doorbell, smiling already knowing who was there.
I skip to the door and open it to see Rick standing there with a bouquet of roses and one of our favorite wines that we tried together in the past at a wine tasting event.
"God, you look more beautiful every time I see you," he says pulling me into an embrace, kissing me softly.
I kiss him back, smiling at his compliment. "Mmm it's nice to see you again."
"Nice to see you again as well. I've come bearing gifts."
Rick hands me the bouquet filled with roses and sunflowers with a small butterfly accessory attached in them.
"Aww thank you. These flowers are so gorgeous and you must have known I was craving this wine."
"Just had a feeling."
"Well I'm glad you got us some because it doesn't feel the same drinking it alone," I reply glancing at his lips and back in his eyes.
Ugh, I haven't seen him in so long, I'm trying my best not to just attack him.
"Whew, woman don't be putting them eyes on me this early."
"Oh I am not," I exclaim laughing and playfully hitting him. "Come on in though, it's cold out. Are you hungry? I made a baked ziti earlier if you want some."
"I'm sorry babe, I just ate before I came over. I will take some to go though."
Rick steps in and I close the door behind him. He takes in all the moving boxes I had around saying, "Ah, I see you're getting ready to move."
"Yea, I've been packing things away and going through the rooms one by one. I still have a lot to do and rooms I haven't even touched yet. I hired some movers though so hopefully they can help me get things done quicker."
I grab two wine glasses from the rack and open the wine, pouring us both a glass.
"Are you planning on keeping all the furniture?"
"Not much, just a few bits and pieces of items. Some of the furniture brings back memories that I wish I could forget..."
"I can agree with you on that. It's crazy how one item can hold so many memories but can be gone just like that..." he says before I give him his glass as we both go towards the sofa. He takes a seat and holds his hand out for me as I climb into his lap trying to hold back from giggling in excitement.
"You have anything you want to do in particular this fine afternoon?"
"Not really, I'm perfectly content with just lying here with you."
