"Okay Omerettá, your teeth look great. There aren't any cavities or any gum related problems. However, we looked into the pain you said you were having recently near the back of your mouth. The X-rays we took show the pain you're having is due to three wisdom teeth coming in."

"Oh....okay. Are you going to have to take them out?"

"Yes, that is the best option. We can do a quick procedure today to have them removed if you like. It'll stop the pain you're experiencing."

"Um, sure?"

"Alrighty, you didn't drive here yourself did you?"

"No."

"Okay, because afterwards we don't think you will be able to drive. The anesthesia will probably still be in effect after the procedure. I'm going to let the person you came in with know and get you prepped, okay?"

"Okay..."

The nurse leaves out the room, leaving me sitting in the dentist chair a bit nervous. To calm myself a little, I send Jabari a quick text.

Bae, tell me why I'm at the dentist and I have to get my wisdom teeth removed😟I don't know why but I'm scared.

He doesn't respond as quick as he usually does but he's probably busy.

There was only 1 more week left until school started back and I got to do mostly everything I wanted this break. Lately though, Angela has scheduled all types of appointments for me. At first it was a regular checkup, then the OBGYN, and now the dentist.

I asked her why she scheduled all these appointments and she told me it's good to
make sure I knew what was going on with myself.

With the info I found out about my parents two weeks ago, I decided not to look any deeper in it. I haven't told Vicky, Ti, or Angela but I wonder if she knows or senses something. I sometimes catch her looking at me like she wants to ask or tell me something.

After a few more minutes, two nurses come back to my room, prepping me for the procedure by putting a mask on my face. Before I could ask any more questions, I begin to feel woozy and was out.

It's been almost two hours and Omerettá was still in the back. I scheduled these appointments to make it seem like she should do these things to care for her health (which she should) but I'm hoping these tests can tell me something more...

This dentist appointment is just an appointment, but I'm really waiting on the blood results back from the family doctor we went to this week.

While waiting, my heart drops as I see the email notification come to my phone with the blood test results.

I take a deep breath and open it, with my hands shaking slightly. As I read through, my heart sinks.

The results don't have what I'm looking for...

No DNA comparison, no type of confirmation, just a standard blood test that showed normal levels.
