"Ti and Vicky should be over any minute now but I have to warn you; they can be...a lot."

"How so?"

"They're going to ask a lot of questions."

"I'm an attorney Amaria, so you know I'm ready for anything."

"Alright, we'll see," I say before bearing loud knocking at the door. I already know it has to be Ti...

I go to open the door and Ti shakes her head and hands me the cookies in her hand aggressively. "Rettá, please give me a good reason on why the hell you ignoring Angela?! I know your mother is in town and all but she's worried like shit! You n-"

Ti stops dead in her tracks after looking past me and noticing Keri in the room.

"Hi, I'm Keri, Amaria's mom."

Ti widens her eyes slightly and glances over at me but back at her stating, "Heyyyy, um, I'm her friend Ti."

"It's so nice to meet you Ti."

"Nice to meet you to Ms. Keri." I catch Ti looking at her smiling and I smack her arm mumbling, "Girlll, don't you start."

Ti looks back at me whispering, "I can't look? She's even finer in person. I know she got a husband but I can still play ya step momma."

"Ti, please."

"Mmm alright alright. Vic should be here any minute now." She turns back to Keri saying, "Ms. Keriiii, you need any help with working the tv?"

"Yes, I actually do, thank you!"

Ti smirks at me and skips over to Keri near the tv, making me roll my eyes.

More knocking was heard from the door and I open it to see a Vicky holding a medium box. "Hey Rettá, how did meeting your mom go? We want to hear ALL ab-oh, hello."

"Hi, you must be Vicky?"

"Yes."

"I'm Amaria's mom, Keri, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you to."

Vicky comes in the room and I close the door behind her. God, please let this go well....

As we settled in, Ti and Keri decide to turn Kill Bill on and I pick up the UNO cards. "Is everybody fine with playing UNO first?"

Keri smiles and nods. "I'm okay with that,"

"Same here."

"Okay, Ti, can you shuffle please," I ask, handing the cards over to her.

"Sure."

Ti takes the cards out the box and begins to shuffle. She turns to Keri with a smirk asking,  "Soooo, Ms. Keri... how old are you?"

"I'm 47."

"Wow, you look really good for your age."

"Why thank you," Keri replies to Ti's compliment which made her smile softly.

Vicky takes a slice of pizza and comes over with the rest of us asking, "You have any other kids Ms. Keri?"

"No, it's just me and my husband Greg."

"And why is that? If you don't mind us asking."

"Um, well, our careers kept us busy."

"What do you guys do for work?"

"I'm an attorney and my husband Greg is a CEO."

"Oooo, okay! I thought you looked familiar, I'm from Atlanta as well. You're running for the district Congress right now aren't you?"
