ORPHANAGE

~BEGINNING

I can't imagine what our life would be after my mother passed away and growing up without knowing our father. Hi, ako nga pala si Code Phoenix Bavinn at ang kambal kung kapatid na si Diana Hellish Bavinn. We're 18 pero tanda lang ako sa kanya ng bente minutos. Hindi nga lang kami magkamukha kasi mas maganda ako sa kanya, charot but yeah we're fraternal twins and we had this rare hereditary condition called Poliosis which explains why we have strands of white hair.

We currently became an orphan as our mother passed away due to an unknown illness. Sa hirap namin di namin nadala si mama sa ospital. Me and my twin sister grew up in a slum area of France where my mom was working in a shoe factory and due to over fatigue and lack of nutrients, she got sick. She stopped working and i had to provide for our family while Diana took care of her. We are originally from the Philippines pero napagdesisyonan nina Mama and Dad noon na tumira dito sa France to start a new life but it didn't turned out to what they expected. Nung nalaman ni Dad na buntis si Mama bigla itong nagalit at pinagsabihan si Mama na ipalaglag raw pero di kayang gawin ni Mama yun kaya umalis si Dad at hindi na bumalik hanggang sa dumating ang araw na ipapanganak na kami ni Mama. Walang tumulong kay Mama, so Mom gave birth to us by herself...inside our house. When Mama told me about everything , i feel enrage about my father and if i could see him one day i will avenge mom.

My salary from working isn't enough to sustain our food for the whole week, so we had to rations to last for more days.

When our mother died, we were brought to an orphanage where us girls was forced to work as a laundry maid in wealthy families. I'm thankful that me and my twin sister were able to eat three times a day but i can't deny the fact that we are forced to work and the orphanage handler would hurt us if we didn't.

It's not easy to wash pile of dirty clothes by hands. I'm washing extra pile of clothes that I took from Diana since i don't want her to get overwork. Nangako ako may mama na babantayan at aalagaan ko ng mabuti si Diana.

The only memorandum of mom to us was her emerald necklace that she told us grandma gave to her. She said it brings fortune and it will guide us to the right path but I didn't believe her base of where we are now, quite the opposite.

"Mauna kanang bumalik Nana, tataposin ko nalang 'tong isang basket ng maruming damit," saad ko kay Diana.

I took the pile of clothes that she supposed to wash. It's already dark and time for supper. In the orphanage, dinner were served at exactly 7:00 pm and if you can't get in line or get your food on time, You'll starve. It's already 6:30 pm at medyo malayo pa yung orphanage sa mansion na pinaglalabahan namin.

"Eh paano ka ate, 'di ka naman makakaabot sa dinner mamaya." She said, worried.

"Okay lang Nana, ang importante ay ikaw. Wag kang mag-alala sa'kin at tsaka 'di pa naman ako ganun ka gutom." I smiled. She hugged me and left.
