Patrick's looking at himself in the mirror to see a reflection of himself. Only this reflection is far more sinsidious. Patrick walks up the stairs in this dark gleamy world. Everything is different here, but yet, nothing is the same. Patrick goes into the attic to shut up his sister as she wouldn't stop screaming in the middle of the night. He visited her grave and told her to stop. It didn't help.
