*back to Graces pov*
Faces are flashing through my mind, people I killed, their last moments, some begging me to stop, some screaming, others too scared to move. Some old, some younger. Kol's face then Davina's, Klaus, Elijah then Rebekah. Then I see Claire, my friend from New Orleans. Once I was free from Whitmore she found me and we stuck together from 1968 untill this man killed her in 2009. I see his face, light brown hair, stubble on his chin, smug look, tall with blue eyes.

I hear voices that sound like they are forever away, I listen to them.
"We don't know if she still is trying to get back at us or why her humanity is off in the first place," one voice says.
"I don't care, she tried to kill Jeremy, she doesn't deserve your pity," says another voice.
A third one says "we don't know what she has been through or how she will react when she wakes up."
I focus on the the voices as they continue to argue with each other.
I bolt up, my face dripping with water. "What the hell?" I yell wiping my face.
"We needed you to wake up," Damon shrugs.
"Where is he?" I ask looking around frantically.
"Who?" Elena asks me, can she be any dumber?
"The man who Stefan brought in, tell me where is is!"
"He is upstairs," Bonnie says to me gently.
I move to go upstairs but Damon blocks me, "Nuh uh uh," Damon says wagging is finger in his, "sit," he pushes me back down with such force Elena and Bonnie flinch.
"We need to know why you-" Damon begins
"Tried to murder our history teacher," Stefan finishes.
"Your vampire hunting history teacher," I tell them both, they just look at each other.
"We are aware of that," Stefan tells me, "but that doesn't answer the question."
I run to the front door but Caroline beats me to it.
"You're kidding right?" I ask her, "I could kill you."
She swallows and says "I don't care, we need you to tell us why you have Alaric."
"Sit now Grace, we won't bite," Damon teases me.
"Have you heard of the Augustine Society?"
Damon stiffens, "I have heard of them, run by the Whitmore family," he responds.
"Who are they?" Caroline asks with her arms crossed.
"They formed a society, they capture vampires, starve them so they are weak and operate on them, they say it's to find the source of our immortality and fast healing but it's obvious it's just out of cruelty," I almost yell.
"They called me in, turns out my relative Joseph Salvatore sold me out and they locked me in a cell. Only giving me just enough blood to keep me alive. They would take me and strap me down to a table and cut me open and stab random parts of my body over and over."

"How did you escape?" Bonnie asks me sitting next to me.
"I don't know, it's like I blacked out, one moment I was in the cell, the next I was in New York where Kol and I had an apartment from years before ." I shrug, "I truly don't know what happened."
"When did you get out?" Stefan asks.
"1968," I answer.
"But what has that got to do with Alaric?" Stefan asks me.
"In New York I met with Claire, she was my best friend from New Orleans. I decided not to go back to New Orleans for a while and just live with Claire. In 2009 we were feeding in an alley behind a strip club and that's when," I draw in a staggered breathe, Alaric killed her."
Everyone looks to the ground.
"She was my best friend for fifty years and he, a freaking human, killed her." I say as tears fall down my cheeks.
"How?" Elena asks me then Caroline looks at her shaking her head.
"I guess we were too focused from feeding, he had a stake gun thing and," I pause and take a breath, " he shot her with it through her heart."
"I'm so sorry Grace," Caroline says putting her hand on my shoulder but I ignore her.
