His Biggest Fan

CHAPTER 10

CHAPTER TEN

I can hear voices around me but my eyelids are too heavy and I can't move or talk.  I don't know how long I've been unconscious, I just remember falling asleep.  I try to move my hands and feet but they don't respond.  I'm worried for my baby, how is my baby?  The muffled voices around me are getting clearer. 

      "I'm sorry Eliana, please wake up."  He whispers.

      It's Robert's voice I hear, who else is in the room? 

      "I rather have you in my life as a friend than not have you at all."  He continues.

      I wish I could tell him that it's okay.  But nothing comes out, I can't move.

      "The Doctor said she would wake up soon, it's just the medication that they gave her, it made her sleep."  My mother's voice echoed in the room.

      My mom is here, how's the baby?  Why doesn't anyone talk about the baby?  I want to wake up, why can't I move?

      "Mom, let's go to the cafeteria and get some coffee."  My sister says in a low voice.

      "Okay," she murmurs.

      I can feel Robert holding my hand, "I'm sorry I've been such a jerk, I promise I will be here for you as a friend or as whatever you want me to be."  He whispers into my hand.

      "What the hell are you doing here?"  Ian says angrily.

      It's Ian, he's here.  How did he get here so fast?  How long have I've been out?  I want to scream, move, or open my eyes to look at him.  But nothing moves.  Is my baby okay?

      "I'm here because Eliana is my best friend."  Robert says, he doesn't let go of my hand.

      "I'm here now, you should leave."  Ian says as he grabs my other hand.  I can feel his warm lips touching my hand.

      Oh Ian I wish I could touch you, I'm scared, how's the baby? 

      He kisses my forehead and I can feel his warm breath in my face.  I feel safer already.  I wish I could touch him.

      "Baby you are going to be alright," he murmurs.

      Robert and Ian both squeeze my hand at the same time.

      "It's funny how you call yourself her best friend but you are only her friend when it suits you."  Ian says.

      "I know I made mistakes, but I will never leave her unless she asks me to.  And Ian make no mistake about it, when you let her down I'll be there to bring her up again."  Robert's voice sound threatening. 

      "You know that everything that happened was a big misunderstanding and you had a big part in it.  I would've never left her if it wasn't for you."  Ian responds with anger in his voice.

      "It's weird how instead of trusting her you thought the worst of her.  You don't know Eliana at all.  Even I knew she would never stop loving you, she would've never betrayed you even after it was over between you both."  He murmurs.

      "I know I let my pride get in the way, but it will never happen again.  I love her and I will never hurt her again."  Ian says.

      "I know that you love her and she loves you.  I accept that now, I need you to understand that I am going to be here for her until she sends me away."  He says without a trace of anger.
