Wanda smiled at me as she walked my way. I didn't know how long I sat in Bruce's lab, it almost felt like an eternity passed before he eventually removed the needles and various other gadgets from my exposed limbs. Everything around me looked like it came from one of those futuristic movies Bucky would make me watch. He blushed over the inventions and told me he had once been able to witness the first flying car before...

"How are you feeling?" Bruce drags me from my thoughts and I slowly turn my attention to him.

I flexed my fingers, curling them in and out. I wiggled my toes under the dark slippers that Wanda had magically swapped with the sneakers I was wearing earlier. After the night with Bucky and before my chat with Stefano, I decided to practice sword combos out in the morning sun. I scouted a hidden patch of grass where I could train in peace, none of the gardeners working around the compound could see me or distract me. I think I found my new favourite spot.

"I don't feel that different..." I raise my hand and look at my palm under the white light swallowing every corner of the room. I felt lighter though, everything that happened made me feel heavy and weak, but I didn't feel that way anymore. "It's subtle though, I know there's something different."

"There are still remnants of the Sceinyte floating around inside your body. I don't think all of it merged into your bloodstream. I tried to separate as much as I could for now. This will have to be a repeated procedure over time, though." Bruce fiddles with the screen in front of him for a second. "It was easy enough to do, like removing a blood clot." I stared at him. "I don't think it's a permanent solution, I don't know if it will work or if it's just temporary. But I think if we do this every two—maybe three weeks—we can keep you from... you know. Whatever happened earlier."

"Okay." I nod my head and swing my legs over the side of the full-body-length seat. I freeze before standing, planting my feet on the concrete below and shuffling to get a better stance. I notice Wanda shift in the corner of my eye so I take a breath and stand up—a bit quicker than I should have; I didn't need assistance—more so I refused it—even if I felt slightly jumbled.

Bucky was called away for something, most likely about Ivo and his whereabouts. He had planted a kiss on my forehead before dipping out of the room like a nimble shadow as if he were never here in the first place.

I turned to Wanda and smiled, she stood open and ready if she needed to assist me. Her eyes blinked and examined me quickly before relaxing her muscles, her fingers curled back into her palm naturally and she straightened. She watched me as I made my way to her.

"I'm hungry." I softly mention averting her attention from my wobbliness.

"I'm going to begin dinner soon." She follows my shadow as I head to the door.

"Y/N." I look over my shoulder to see Bruce with a slight smile.

"Sí?" I raise my brow.

"Take it slow for the next few days or at least until you feel your strongest." He raised his chin and then dropped it. "If you have any problems you know where to find me. It was nice meeting you." His smile lifted a weight I didn't know I carried on my shoulders. I stood straight and smiled back.

"And you." I bow my head before stepping into the hallway. "What are you thinking of making tonight?" I say into the still air around Wanda and me. She was silent but her presence was heavy. Maybe my senses were just... sensitive?

"I-uh... Chicken?" She stumbles on her words. I stop in the middle of the hallway and I could almost hear her shoes shriek to a halt behind me.

"Like?" I look at her and then out the large window that faced the endless tips of trees.
