After getting back to Washington, and once Y/N changed out of his Batsuit, Steve and himself marched right to Fury's office to get answers about not telling them about Natasha and Yelena's side mission. However, Y/N was mainly going to just to listen. He wasn't a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, so it made sense that he wouldn't be told about it. He was a third party. Also, when the meeting was finished he needed to know some more information.

"You just can't stop yourself from lying, can you?" Steve asked Fury as they two men went into the Director's office. AS Y/N entered, he clicked his small device to jam the comms in the office. After everything that the Riddler said, he couldn't be to sure. Y/N also knew that he was telling the truth. That was why he looked into his eyes. It was the only part of his body that Y/N could read to be able to tell if he was telling the truth or not.

"I didn't lie," Fury said sitting at his desk, looking out of the window. "Agent Romanoff and Belova had a different mission than yours."

"Which you didn't feel obliged to share," Steve said, as he stood in front of the desk while Y/N was off to the side.

"I'm not obliged to do anything," Fury said, still looking out of the window.

Somethings up, Y/N thought. He could tell off of Fury's posture, that he soon corrected.

"Those hostages could have died, Nick," Steve said.

"I sent the greatest soldier in history to make sure that didn't happen," Fury told him. He then turned in his chair to look Steve in the eyes.

"Soldiers trust each other. That's what makes it an army. Not a bunch of guys running around shooting guns," Steve said.

"Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye," Fury said as he stood from the desk and kept looking at Steve's gaze as there is is brief pause between the three men.

"Look, I didn't want you doing anything you weren't comfortable with. Agents Romanoff and Belova are comfortable with everything," He added.

"I can't lead a mission when the people I'm leading have missions of their own," Steve rebutted. "At least Bats told me he had to follow a lead before a sniper almost killed Rumlow."

"It was Riddler," Y/N added.

"It's called compartmentalization. Nobody spills the secrets, because nobody knows them all," Fury said, as he leaned on the desk not saying anything to Y/N's comment.

"Except you," Steve added.

"You're wrong about me. I do share. I'm nice like that," Fury said. "I want to show you both something."

Fury and the two men left his office and went to the closest elevator. They didn't have to wait too long for it to arrive to their floor as they got onto it.

"Insight bay," Fury said to the A.I.

Riddler said something about Insight, Y/N thought.

"Captain Rogers and Mr. Wayne do not have clearance for Project Insight," The system said.
