At the Gotham Police Department, the Joker sat in a cell while watching an officer take all of his knives out of his coat that was taken. The room was full of officers while other men were in different cells.

"Stand away!" Gordon ordered while walking into the room. "All of you! I don't want anything for his mob lawyer to use, you understand?"

The Gotham mayor then walked in. "Back from the dead," He said to Gordon.

"I couldn't risk my family's safety," Gordon explained while shaking his hand.

The mayor then looked back at the Joker. "What do we got?"

"Nothing," Gordon stated. "No matches on prints, DNA, dental. Clothing is custom, no labels. Nothing in his pockets but knives and lint. No name. No other alias."

"Go home, Gordon," The mayor said. "The clown will keep till morning. Get some rest. You're going to need it. Tomorrow you take the big job. You don't have a say in the matter. Commissioner Gordon."

The other officers then started to clap at this announcement. Gordon shook the hand of the mayor again and two other officers that were standing nearby. He then saw that the Joker was clapping, mocking the promotion.

Gordon then went back home. His wife opened the door as she saw him, feeling quite a few emotions. He took a step in as he said, "I'm sorry, I couldn't risk your safety."

Mrs. Gordon the slapped him in the face, which was deserved. She then started to cry as she pulled him in for a hug.

"Mom, who's-" Barbara asked as she then saw her father standing there. No more words where needed as she joined in on the hug.

After the hug and a few words Gordon checked in one his son, who was supposed to be in bed asleep. He was in bed, but he then opened his eyes when he felt his father brush his hair out of his eyes.

"Did Batman save you, Daddy?" James Jr asked.

"Actually, this time," Gordon said. "I saved him."

Gordon smiled at his son as his cell phone started to ring. Something had happened and he had to go back to the police department.

"Has he said anything yet?" Gordon asked when he entered the room with the interrogation room on the other side.

Ramirez shook her head as Gordon then went into the interrogation room. There was a table with two chairs, one of which the Joker was sitting in with both hands in a pair of handcuffs. There was also a lamp in the dimly lit room.

"Evening, Commissioner," The Joker greeted as Gordon closed the door and walked over to the table.

Gordon rested both hands onto the table before speaking. "Harvey Dent never made it home."

"Of course not," The Joker stated.

"What have you done with him?" Gordon asked.

"Me?" The Joker asked in surprise as he held up his handcuffed hands. "I was right here. Who did you leave him with? Hm? Your people? Assuming, of course, that they are still your people and not Maroni's. Does it depress you, commissioner, to know how alone you really are? Does it make you feel responsible for Harvey Dent's current predicament?"
