"You've been in that class for over a month, and you can't give us anything?" Denki's adoptive father, Ren, practically snarls at him.

The blonde shrinks in on himself. He's glad that at least it's not one of his feminine days because what his adoptive father is about to do would only make things worse. The green haired man grabs Denki by the shoulders and forces him to look into his pink and yellow eyes. Denki shivers in fear, worried that the man will find more insecurities to latch on to for Ahmya to use against him later.

Ahmya and Ren make a terrifying pair with their quirks. Ren's quirk is being able to see every insecurity by looking into a person's eyes with his hypnotic pink and yellow eyes, and Ahmya can make every negative thing she says hurt ten times more than it normally would. Ahmya's quirk has single handedly led Denki to three out of his four suicide attempts, and he fears for the unborn little girl being carried by Ahmya right now. There's no way that woman wouldn't use her quirk against the baby as well.

"So, you still think you're some boy/girl freak," Ren practically purrs. Ever since Ahmya had found out that she's pregnant this time, Ren has terrorized Denki more than normal. He doesn't know exactly why, but he has a feeling that it has something to do with the blood Ahmya had drawn from the boy two months before she announced this pregnancy. Denki hopes that he's wrong and continues to refer to the child as his future sibling, but he knows that his theory will either be proven or disproven when the baby is born.

Ren watches Denki's expression carefully before speaking again. "Being friends with Eraserhead's kids doesn't seem to be getting enough information, so we want you to pick one of the girls in the class to start dating. The Yaoyorozu girl or that brown haired one who's obsessed with Eraser's kid would be preferred, but I'm sure that purple haired chick with the listening quirk would be helpful too."

Denki blinks in surprise. That was definitely not what he expected from his adoptive father, but it would give him more time outside of the house, more time away from Ahmya's cutting words. Training with Izuku, Hitoshi, and Kacchan has already gotten him out later on weekdays, but asking someone out will require dates that he could definitely make Sundays so that he ins't home for the whole day on any given day of the week.

"I'll try." Denki shrugs. "It just depends on if any of them are even willing to go out with me."

Ren rolls his eyes at the boy before turning away to head to work, grumbling something along the lines of, "I'd be surprised if any go out with you too."

Denki is only going to be home alone for the next half hour until Ahmya gets back from her appointment, so he decides to take the time to get some homework done before the woman starts cutting into him with the insults. He doesn't need to lose his motivation and risk failing at UA.

When Monday finally arrives, Denki is practically sweating with nerves. She doesn't even ask Izuku for his bag, instead just grabbing it and darting to the bathroom because she feels that if she speaks, she'll throw up from how nervous she is. Yeah, asking a girl to date her is basically an assignment from her adoptive parents, but if she's going to ask anyone, it's going to be Jirou, who she's developed a small crush on, and that's what has her so nervous. She definitely didn't have plans to ask the purple haired girl out any time soon, and she would much rather be asking Hitoshi, but her choices are limited.

"You stupid, worthless, waste of space." Memories of the last time she disobeyed a direct request from her adoptive parents comes to his mind, unbidden.

Denki hid in his room, trying hard not to make any sound. He already knew that he messed up by trying to go to Izuku's house after Katsuki and Izuku were on the news, but he had wanted, so desperately, to make sure that his old friends were okay.

"I bet your little friends don't even remember you," Ahmya had said. "Why would they remember you after they finally got rid of your annoying, stupid, ass?"

She was hitting all of his weak points, and she knew it. She didn't have to see the boy to know that tears were running down his face.

"You gonna cry? Some hero you plan to be, crying like that." She found him, and was standing in front of Denki now. "Your parents would be so disappointed in the worthless brat you've become. I bet they're glad to be gone. They don't have to deal with the disgrace you are anymore."

More and more insults were thrown at Denki like weapons, and each and every one of them cut into him far worse than any blade could. That night was the last time Denki tried to kill himself, and he's sure that it won't be the last time it happens either.

Once she's done changin, Denki heads back into the classroom, and heads over to Ashido, who had arrived while she was changin, and asks if the pink skinned girl could do her make-up for her. Mina is all too excited to help, as the rest of their friend group regularly refuse her offers for makeovers. Denki's the only one who ever accepts, but it has to be on days where Denki feels girly, otherwise, the make-up makes her feel just as bad as boy clothes do when she's feminine.

Through the rest of the school day, Denki plans out how she wants to ask Jirou out. The thought is extremely daunting, but she has to do it. She has no choice. Once the day is finally over, Denki steels her resolve, and walks up to the other girl.

"Hey, Jirou." Denki does her best to grin happily to hide her nerves.

Jirou turns to the blonde and gives her a small smile. "Did you need something, Kaminari?"

Denki takes a deep breath before speaking. "Would you, maybe, like to go on a date on our next day off?"

Kyoka is taken aback. She wasn't expecting the blonde to ask. She wasn't expecting anyone to ask, to be honest as she comes off as a cold and sarcastic person. Maybe it would be a good idea for her to go out with Denki. Yeah, the blonde can get annoying sometimes, but she's a good and genuine person. She wouldn't ask someone out without having actual, genuine feelings for that person.

"Sure, but I'll be the one taking you out. There's this concert coming up, and I happen to already have two tickets."

Denki smiles and breathes a small sigh of relief. That was far easier than she had expected things to go. "I can't wait."
