"You know it's not going to be the same as if you were in a normal relationship, right?" Izuku asks Denki as he leads her to the general studies classroom.
Denki nods. "I couldn't live with myself if I let it be someone else. You know that."
Izuku nods in understanding. He may not have made much progress with trying to make friends with Todoroki, but he would feel the same if it was the dual colored boy in the situation that Hitoshi is in. "I hope things work out. You know he was never the same after you were taken away from us. We're finally getting the Hitoshi we know and love back. I hope this love quirk doesn't ruin things."
Denki nods, agreeing. "Yeah. I'd hate to lose my best friend over this. I love him, but our friendship is more important to me."
They reach the classroom, and Denki lets Izuku know that she'll bring Hitoshi to the training ground after things are taken care of with the quirk problem. Once the green haired boy is out of sight, she cracks the door open and slips inside to see Hitoshi sitting at one of the desks looking away from the door. His blindfold is off, and Denki is sure that he has his eyes closed despite not facing the door. The purple haired boy has always been cautious, and he wouldn't trust someone to not just walk in front of him without warning him first.
Denki announces her presence, walking up to Hitoshi, but not stepping in front of him. She wants to be the one he sees, the one he is temporarily tied to by the quirk, but it is still his decision. "Hey, Toshi. I heard what happened."
Hitoshi sighs. They know that Denki has feelings for Jirou, so why was she there if she knows about the quirk they were hit with? She could never love them the way they loved her. "Then why are you here. The next person I see, I'm basically going to be forced to be obsessed with."
"You're my best friend. I don't want you to be stuck with someone random, or accidentally looking at one of your family members." She grins despite knowing that he won't see it. "I know you'd hate yourself if you accidentally looked at Izuku or Akira or the twins by accident."
Hitoshi experimentally opens their eyes, but doesn't turn their head yet. "Are you sure, Denks? What about your feelings for Jirou?"
Denki chuckles humorlessly. "She cheated on me. We were keeping our relationship on the down low, so only a few people knew."
Hitoshi turns their head to finally look at Denki. "When did this happen?" They expect to feel something different, but nothing about how they feel about the blonde has changed. Will it take a little bit for them to feel the affects? "Better question, why didn't I know about your relationship? I thought I was your best friend?"
"You are," Denki groans. She can't just tell him that the reason she didn't tell him was because she was in love with him and was afraid that she'd lose him over it. "Izuku and Kacchan knew, but I wasn't really supposed to tell anyone. I only told them by accident." He can't know it was an assignment. He can't know how madly in love with him she is. He just can't know yet. "And, well, we started dating after about a month after school started, but she stopped really talking to me after the USJ, then I caught her kissing Yaoyorozu in the bathroom after lunch when I accidentally went in the wrong bathroom."
Today!? Hitoshi wants to be mad at her, wants to be angry that their best friend didn't tell them that she was in a relationship, but they can't bring themself to be mad at her. They can only find it in their heart to be absolutely pissed at the punk girl in Denki's class. "Why the actual fuck would she cheat on you? You don't deserve that at all. You're the sweetest person I know. If she couldn't see that, she definitely doesn't deserve you."
Denki smiles despite herself. "She's a lesbian. My masculine days made her uncomfortable."
"That's no excuse to cheat!" Hitoshi realizes that they need to calm down. Yelling isn't going to help their best friend. "If she was uncomfortable, she should have told you and broke things off."
"Come on," Denki grins, trying to hide how much she hates that Hitoshi doesn't seem to be acting any differently towards her. "Your dads are waiting for us." She grabs Hitoshi's hand and starts dragging him to the door.
