Chapter 109

Continued from last chapter.

3rd person POV:

Knock knock.

"Are you in there?"

When no one answered, Denki slowly opened the door and stepped in. He paused when he saw the one girl he loved the most curled up in a ball, crying.

"Are you ok?" He closed the door and rushed over. All he got for a reply was a broken sob. A sob that broke his heart. He didn't like to see her like this.

He wrapped his arms around her and held her as she cried into him. She cried out her worries. She cried out her misery. She cried out her problems. And Denki didn't mind. He would do anything for her happiness. Anything to see her smile.

But smiling in this bleak situation...was practically impossible.

The sobs quieted.

Silence.

"I'm sorry." she whispered. "I'm being a burden to you, aren't I?"

"You are not." Denki said. "I don't know how your sadness feels like, but I understand it."

"It hurts." She whimpered. "Knowing that the world might be on the verge of collapse. Knowing that your brother is a villain. Knowing that one of your friends left to protect you."

"It hurts." Denki agreed. "But hurt can be healed. We'll figure something out."

More silence.

"I wish we were a normal couple."

"What do you mean?"

"Well." The daughter of Endeavor repositioned herself so that she was also hugging Denki. "Instead of going on epic death quests, we could go on dates to resturants. Instead of almost dying, we could go on picnics. Instead of pulling each other out of harms way, we could be dancing."

Denki laughed. "Yeah, that would be great. But I don't think thats going to happen anytime soon."

Yoko splayed out her hands. "Just imagine." she hummed.

Denki copied her. "I can see it."

"Do you think we'll stay together until the end?"

"Yup."

"You really think so?"

He tackled her. "Yup!!!"

The mood broke. They both cracked up, then went silent again.

Denki pinched Yoko's cheeks (on her face you nasty little--). "Say that you love me."

Yoko made a chipmunk face. "I love you."

"I love you too." he leaned down and kissed her.

What they didn't know was that Shoto was right outside the door. He had listened to the entire conversation.

Shoto had come to see if Denki had been treating his sister right, and he had gotten his answer. He didn't have anything to worry about.

Shoto turned away from his sister's door and silently padded away, deep in his own thoughts.

Yes, it was cringe.

Yes, I don't care.

Yes, I loved this chapter.

Yes, Denki is awesome.

(I'm on a role. More than 10 chapters in two days! I deserve a break.)
