**Dream**
Darkness surrounded me but I knew I was in a forest. The familiar forest smells waft up from nearby me. Crickets churped loud around me.
"Kat?" A deep, soft voice sounds. Always the same voice. "Kat? Where are you?" Leaves and twigs crush under the man's feet.
"I'm here." I say towards the voice. Upon calling out to this man, from the utter opposite direction is the sound of an animal; like a growling jungle cat. The world around me seemed to go silent and still. It was my fast heartbeat and the growl that sounded the forest instead.
"Kat, run! He's coming! Come to me!" But I can't. My feet seemed to glue to the spot. "Kat! Don't just stand there, run!" I see the glowing red eyes before I see the creature itself in the moonlight.
He always comes so fast, I never see it coming. He grabs me by the throat and presses me against the tree. "There you are... sweet, sweet Kate." His sickly sweet breath fans my face. I let out a gasp in terror. The glowing red eyes looked into my own causing me to freeze up and paralyze.
"Kat, why didn't you run? Why didn't you run to me?" The sadness was evident in the deep voice, it came from somewhere behind this creature. "I could have kept you safe.
The creature leaned his head into the crook of my neck. "Such a lovely, sweet scent." His voice rasped in pleasure.
"I could have kept you safe!" The deep voice shouts. The creature sniffs my neck loudly. I was paralyzed, my whole body numb.
"Why would you leave me like this?" The creature bites my neck. White hot pain courses through my body as he sucked the life out of me.
"Another life, another shell. You will suffer for all eternity... brother."
