"YOU SHARE THE SAME BIRTHDAY?!" Ari and Kyler blurted at the same time, staring at me and Rain.
I gently pressed her hand, then nodded. "Yes."
"No way?" Ari asked, eyes wide.
"How old are you going to be tomorrow?" Kyler chimed in.
"I'm turning thirty," I replied.
"And I'm turning twenty-seven!" Rain said cheerfully.
I looked at her and hugged her tightly.
We were sitting on the couch, snacking on croissants because apparently that's their comfort food.
They looked so adorable I almost forgot how chaotic they are.
The four of us turned when the door suddenly opened. I straightened up when Mr. Forrester walked in with that stone-cold face of his.
"Where are the two of you celebrating your birthdays?" he asked immediately.
Rain and I exchanged looks. We didn't even get to talk about it earlier. "I... I'm not sure yet."
"You own a plane, right?" His voice was still serious.
I nodded.
"And you're a pilot too?"
Another nod.
"Really?!" Rain gasped. "You own a plane and you're a pilot?"
I grinned. "You didn't know?" I frowned. "You weren't curious about me at all when I arrived in Karao?"
"No." She burst out laughing.
"Ouch."
"So you really are rich?" Rain asked, still in disbelief.
I forced a smile because I didn't know how to answer. I wasn't exactly used to talking about that kind of thing.
"We're as wealthy as the Fitzmaels, Jealrain," Mr. Forrester said as he sat on the single sofa across from us. "If your boyfriend is rich, you have to accept that you're rich too."
"I still like the simple life in Karao," she answered softly.
"Karao Beach is under your name. Everything I own is yours."
Rain let out a deep sigh.
I caressed her back to calm her since I knew her relationship with her father was far from smooth.
"Are you two in a relationship now?" Mr. Forrester asked again.
"Yes, sir," I answered.
"Not yet!" Rain cut in.
I looked at her, frowning. "Not yet? You're not sure about me?" I gulped hard. My grip on her hand tightened. I didn't want to let her go.
"I want our anniversary to be tomorrow so we can celebrate everything every September 1st," she said with a bright smile. Then she cupped my cheek and leaned close to my ear. "I'm not leaving you," she whispered.
I finally exhaled in relief and turned to Mr. Forrester.
"Before you two get married, I want both of you to sign a prenuptial agreement," he said, still serious.
I nodded immediately. "Of course. That's perfectly alright."
"You two are the only Fitzmael and Forrester I allow to be together, but not our properties or businesses." His gaze hardened. "I despise your father and his brothers, but I love my daughter..." He cleared his throat. "And I've grown to like you. So, you're the only exception. I trust you."
