"You are a liar!" Scarlet's staticky voice shouted through your landline phone, and you chewed on your bottom lip as you nervously twirled the cable around your finger.

"What do you mean?" you feigned innocence, "I never said I wouldn't accept a date from him."

"Liar! You said that nothing was going to happen between you and Michael!" She shouted, and you had to pull the phone away from your ear slightly, cringing at her loud volume, "how are you gonna agree to go out with him after he completely embarrassed you in front of his own dad?!"

God, when she said it like that it made you feel like an idiot. Which... you kind of were. This definitely had to of been one of the stupidest decisions you've ever made. But, this was also a once in a lifetime opportunity that you just couldn't pass up. How often was it that some random nobody got to go on a date with the town's most infamous bad boy? It was literally like a scene out of a movie! And even if the date didn't go well, it still gave you plenty of bragging rights.

"Come on, Scar, don't act like you wouldn't have done the same thing!" You retorted, holding the phone against your ear with your shoulder. You used your hands to flip through the pages of one of your fashion magazines, hoping it would give you some ideas on what to wear. "I mean, Michael hasn't even talked to another girl the entire time he's been here!"

"Gee, well I wonder why that is?" She said sarcastically, and you could practically see her faking a thoughtful look while tapping a finger against her chin, "oh, I know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he's a complete asshole who only cares about himself!"

"Come on, we don't even really know him! For all we know, he could be totally different from what we expect," you tried to reason with her, "I mean, he seemed really genuine when he asked me out... I had never seen him act like that before..."

"Please, (Y/N), don't be an idiot!" Scarlet whined desperately, and you were sure she would've probably grabbed you by the shoulders and started shaking you if she were here, "he's tricking you! He's using his stupid, playboy charm to get in your head!"

"Don't you think you're being a bit over dramatic?" You sighed deeply, shaking your head as you grabbed the phone and shifted it over to your other ear for a moment, "besides, if the date does go horribly wrong, then he promised to actually leave me alone from now on."

"I don't know... I think this is a bad idea."

"Look, I know you're worried about me, and I appreciate it," you said gently, "but you just have to trust me on this. I'll be alright. And if anything does go wrong, I promise I'll let you beat him up."

Scarlet immediately perked up at the sound of that, "okay, deal!"

You giggled softly, shaking your head in amusement at how fast her mood had changed. "Okay, but seriously, I need you to come over and help me pick out what to wear!"

"Okay, okay, I'll be over in an hour!" she laughed in return, "where did you say you were going, again?"

"The roller rink," you replied, "this Saturday."

"He probably wants to try and impress you with his skating skills," Scarlet purred teasingly, causing you to roll your eyes.

"I hope not," you chuckled, "but I'll need to wear something that's cute, but also easy to move around in."
