"A beach trip?" You echoed your boyfriend's words, holding the phone against your ear as you moved to lean back against your pillows, "with the whole group?"
"Yeah, doesn't it sound fun?" You could practically hear the excitement dripping off of Michael's voice, "and you can finally invite Scarlet to come with us!"
The sound of a beach trip did sound appealing to you. It had been a few years since you had last gone to the beach, since your parents were always busy with work, and neither you nor Scarlet had a car to make the trip with.
"Whose car are we taking that can fit all of us?"
"We'd take two cars, silly," Michael chuckled, "Dom would take Eli and Vince in his car, and you girls can ride with me."
"You have a car?"
"Well... it's not really mine, but yes."
"Michael..." you groaned at his words, not liking where he was going with this, "please tell me it isn't..."
"My old man's?" he asked when you didn't finish your sentence, "um... perhaps."
"And are you sure he won't murder us if we borrow his car?"
"I'm not entirely positive," he replied nonchalantly, "but I've taken the car hundreds of times, and I'm still alive and well, aren't I?"
"I guess..." you sighed deeply, nervously twirling the phone cord around your fingers, "do you even have a driver's license?"
"You're asking way too many questions, doll!" he quickly changed the subject, making you deadpan as you stared up at the roof, "that doesn't matter. What does matter, is that we're gonna have a great time!"
"Uh huh, I'm sure we will," you replied sarcastically, but gave a soft chuckle afterwards to let him know that you weren't upset. "But seriously, I really am excited."
"You better be! We're leaving Friday morning, so I'll come pick you up," he explained, "just don't wear a bathing suit that's too cute, or I might not be able to contain myself."
You were glad that he couldn't see your face right now, or he'd see the blushing mess that you had become. "Mike!"
Before you had a chance to scold him, he had already hung up the phone. You let out an annoyed groan as you slammed the phone down, before you flopped back against your pillows and glared up at the ceiling. "I'm gonna kill him..." you grumbled, blush showing no signs of dying down.
Friday rolled around, and that meant it was time for your beach trip. You wore a plain oversized t-shirt and shorts over your bathing suit, and you packed a bag with everything you could possibly need; towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, hair ties, and even a bottle of water. You felt a bit over-prepared, but you also weren't sure what everyone else was bringing with them. Better safe than sorry, as you always said.
You sat by your window as you waited for Michael to arrive, since it was barely dawn. The closest beach was about three hours away, so unfortunately, you had to leave pretty early to get there at a decent time.
Soon enough, you saw a car pull up in front of your house. You perked up when you saw the window roll down, and your boyfriend's head poked out as he waved up at you. You waved back, before quickly grabbing your bag and making your way downstairs and out of the house; as quietly as possible, as to avoid waking up your parents. You had already wrote a little note for them and left it on the kitchen counter, letting them know that you were going to the beach with Scarlet and that you would be back later that night.
