A/N: this chapter is completely in present time again. We're gonna have one more past chapter after this, and then the final two chapters 😨😰

...

Three firm knocks against your front door echoed around the living room, and your husband was already making his way over to answer it before you even had the chance to stand. "Coming!" He called to whoever was waiting at the other side, though you knew exactly who they were.

Alex stopped right in front of the front door as he reached out to unlock it, before turning the knob and pulling it open. A bright smile appeared on his face when your guests were revealed, and he stepped aside to let them come in, "about time you losers finally showed up."

"Put a sock in it, pretty boy," the masculine female snorted, playfully shoving your husband's chest as she walked by him, "didn't your wife ever tell you not to rush a woman?"

"Oh, sorry, my bad," he rolled his eyes with a smirk, closing the door behind them once they were inside, "I just always seem to forget that you're actually a woman."

"Oh yeah? Is it 'cause I'm more of a man than you'll ever be?"

"You wish," he scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest, "do we need to take this outside?"

"You sure you wanna do that?" She chuckled, "'cause I wouldn't wanna embarrass you too bad in front of your neighbors."

"Ladies, ladies, please," the more high-pitched, feminine voice interrupted their playfully arguing, "you're both hot, sexy, and incredibly manly. We're not here for a brawl."

At the familiar sound of your friends' voices, you scooped Evelyn out of her playpen as you carried her into the living room, joining the rest of the group.

"We're here for-" the red-haired woman immediately cut herself off when you entered the room, and her eyes brightened up at the sight of your daughter, "my baby girl!"

"My baby girl," you corrected her as she approached you, cooing excitedly as she reached out to scoop the baby from your arms, "though you seem to forget that a lot, Scar."

Scarlet had completely drowned everyone else out at that point, lifting Evelyn up into her arms as she nuzzled her nose into the baby's chubby cheek, earning delighted giggles from your daughter. "Hi there, precious! Did you miss Auntie Scar-Scar?" She cooed, whipping out her signature baby voice, "because I missed you! Your mean mommy's trying to keep you away from me!"

Scarlet hadn't changed much since your high school years; she was still that bright, bubbly personality that never failed to light up a room whenever she walked in. She was still rocking her iconically large, wild red hair. You remembered a few years ago when she first started her job as a professional designer; she always complained that her hair got in the way of her work, and she debated for a long while about cutting it all off. However, a few flirtatious compliments from her girlfriend had her convinced to keep it long.

Her taste in fashion was still very bold, even more so now that she was working as a designer. Currently, she was wearing a white silk slip dress underneath a bright red coat, which had little pink hearts scattered all across the rose-colored fabric. She paired these with some knee-high black boots, and a pair of large, golden heart-shaped hoop earrings. Another piece of jewelry that was fairly new was her septum piercing; which was a small, simple golden hoop.

She truly was quite the sight to behold, and everyone around her gazed at her girlfriend in envy. However, they soon also realized that her girlfriend was just as equally attractive.
