You felt a cold palm on your forehead and woke up, seeing Signora above you, which also startled you.

"Calm down. I was making sure your temperature stayed even" she moved her hand away from your head and opened the window.

"Thank you...but you startled me, standing above me so randomly..." you stood up.

"Hm..Maybe I should teach you some manners. You obviously don't know when to be grateful and keep your mouth shut" she turned to you and grabbed your face. Her eye met yours, it had a pretty light-grey color, also giving out an icy-cold aura.

"Our ship is ready to sail tomorrow. So today we have enough time to focus on your training" Signora said and let go of your face. You held the place she held on your face and looked over to her,

"Why is my training so important to you anyways?"

"You were assigned to me, so I decided to make you my personal, hmph, bodyguard" she smirked.

"Personal bodyguard? Signora, I don't think you need-"

"Don't. Talk back to me" Signora said and walked out of the room.

You sighed and held your head, rubbing it. You thought about the nightmare and felt a heavy weight on your shoulders, it was a feeling. A feeling of fear? Of worry? Whatever it was, it wouldn't be leaving you any time soon. You got ready and went right out, following Signora to the usual training field. The weather was a little more brutal than it was in the past few days, a blizzard started. You and Signora weren't bothered by it though, you two lived here long enough to handle such simple weather.

"I hope this won't give you any struggles" Signora teased you with a smirk.

You smiled,

"It won't be, but what about you?"

As you said that, you lifted your hand and redirected the path of the blizzard towards her, also giving them a much more sharper form. Signoras eye widened but she quickly dodged them by teleporting behind you,

"I must admit, that is impressive" she whispered into your ear and stomped the floor, creating a small ejection of ice spikes, hitting your legs. You fell back a bit but quickly caught your balance back. The blizzard took its own path again and you two were staring at eachother, waiting for one to strike.

"Come on, Y/N. Don't hold back"

She kept taunting you.

"Then I want you to not hold back either, attack me with all of your power!" you answered her. Something gave you a feeling that Signora wasn't truly using her full powers. Her answer was a simple flick of her cape, and there she was, right behind you, trying to strike you again but you were quicker this time, summoning one of your blades and slashing it at her. She barely dodged your attack, creating a wound on her left arm. Signora held it tightly and looked at you,

"Hm, you actually landed a hit on me" her voice sounded like as if she was praising you. You couldn't believe it either and let go of the blade, running up to her and checking the wound.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to actually hurt you!" she said all panicked.

You raised an eyebrow and watched her being all panicked over the small wound she caused.

"Y/N, calm down. It's not even-" she hushed you,

"Don't say that it's not even a big wound! The snow isn't even white anymore!" she scolded you. Y/N insisted on helping you and walked you right back to your home, she even offered to carry you.

'She's doing so much, but why? I don't understand' you watched her search for some first aid materials in your bathroom, not even seconds later coming back with nearly half of your bathroom. She started to tend the wound, removing your glove and putting on some rubbing alcohol on it, which actually burned a lot. Other than that, you just watched her take care of your arm and be so gentle with it, just a few minutes ago she was panicking, but something must've calmed her down.

"Y'know. I kind of expected you to constantly deny my help, but knowing you let me help you, is letting me know that you tr-"

You put your finger on her lips, not even wanting to hear the last few sentences. That wasn't the truth, at least you didn't want to believe it. No one has ever gained your trust and it should stay that way, it's good this way.

She nodded and smiled, finishing up her job. Her smile always seemed so warm and welcome. Even back then, when she was the 6th Harbinger, something about her was different from any other of your fellow co-workers.

"Signora?"

You shook your head and looked at her,

"Yes?"

Y/N lifted your glove, which had a hole in it now.

"I'll get you a new one, I promise" she said, to which you just shook your head.

"No need to waste your mora on me" you smiled and pat her head, standing up.

Her patting your head confused you, but you ignored it, proceeding to try and help her in any way possible. Signora denied any further help and just went to her room, you stood there in the hallway, still worried and feeling guilty about harming her.

'I gotta do something as an apology...' you looked at the roses in the vase and nodded to yourself, leaving her home out on your way to get something nice for Signora.

You remembered a dream you once had, a dream that happened right after she left. You two had been given a mission like this one, leaving and being put in a dangerous situation. It was all blurry, but you could make out the figures, she was definitely one of the people, the other three were unclear. The person who killed her in your dream though carried a sword. Back then, you wouldn't care about it, but why care now? What made your mind change all of a sudden?

You looked at your arm, it was cleaned very well and not shut too tightly. She must've done this a lot of times too. You sighed and removed your mask, laying it on your bedside table, closing your eyes for a while. There was something, a memory? Multiple memories? You couldn't remember them, no matter how hard you'd try, you wouldn't get to them so easily. A knock interrupted your thoughts. You looked over to the door and answered with a "yes". The door was opened by Y/N, who seemed out of breath, she was holding something which she was protecting from the blizzard outside.

"Are you alright?" you asked her, tilting your head. She nodded and walked over to you,

"I- Uh. Got you something. Not as an apology or so..." Y/N handed you a bouquet of peach roses with a bunch of jonquil flowers hidden between them, plus a box with a beautiful wrapping paper with your Fatui symbol on it. You were overwhelmed by her gifts and didn't know what to answer,

"Y/N, I don't- I can't..." you really couldn't say anything, you put the bouquet of flowers on your bedside table next to your mask and looked at the box.

'I can't take this, why is she doing so much for just one wound? It didn't bring much harm, she's just wasting her time..'

"Thank you for this kindness, but I prefer for you to not do this next time" you said in your usual cold and mean tone. Her smile slowly faded and she nodded in response.

"I won't be disturbing you then anymore for today." she gave you a quick bow and left the room. A heavy feeling hit your chest, you shook it off and opened the drawer from your bedside table, putting the box inside it.

"I don't have time for these stupid little things. My mission starts tomorrow, that's the most important thing now. Collecting Gnoses and bringing them to her Majesty is my job..." you said to yourself, heading to sleep, still with the heavy feeling in your chest.
