Chapter 14: Unknown Darkness

Present

As Ida tells Taehyung the story of Iseult and Illya, he feels a tug on his heart then memories start flashing before his eyes of both lives. Ida stops talking when she feels the wind shift and sees Taehyung's eyes flash blue. She gasps when she sees his hair turn white and his eyes stay blue.

"Illya?" She softly asks as she looks at him in shock.

"Iseult. My poor Iseult." Taehyung softly cries as he covers his face.

"Illya, is that you?" Ida softly asks as she watches the short white hair flurry in the cool wind.

"Please, call me Taehyung. This name comes with less pain." Taehyung smiles as tears continue to stream down his face.

"Do you remember?" She asks as she searches his eyes for an answer.

"I do. Do you know the details of breaking the curse?" Taehyung asks as he looks back out at the sea.

"You have to be sacrificed for Iseult. And not any sword or knife will do. The gruesome part is that it has to be Iseult's sword, Ryker." She explains with a sad voice.

"Ryker." Taehyung whispers and continues to stare out at the sea. Now I know why Ryker freaked out when I touched him. He knows he's the one to end the curse. There has to be another way.

"Where are you from in this life? Captain found you in the sea." Ida asks as she continues to admire the Illya and Taehyung mix sitting in front of her.

"I don't remember that. I don't know if my familiarity with the North Sea is because of the past or because I am from there in this life." Taehyung sighs then turns his eyes towards Ida.

Ida gasps when she sees one blue eye and one brown eye looking at her. Taehyung looks at her confused as she continues to look at him in shock.

"What? Am I ugly?" Taehyung snorts as he looks at her.

"Your eyes."

"Blue or brown?"

"Both." Ida answers with a smile.

"Hm. Interesting." Taehyung smiles then looks back out to the sea.

As Ida and Taehyung continue to sit together, the sound of the clan's war horn blares through the island. Taehyung and Ida instantly bolt up and run to their horses.

"Taehyung, I know you are also Illya, but you are still physically weak." Ida tells him as he rides off towards the sound of the horn.

"Jungkook left me with an amazing swordsman!" Taehyung smiles as Seojoon rides up next to him.

"Fucking hell. Nothing has changed." Ida huffs as she watches the archer she always admired ride off towards the sound of war without a care in the world.

"What happened?" Taehyung asks as he and Seojoon ride as fast as they can.

"Apparently another clan was spotted about twenty minutes away on their war horses with their weapons brandished." Seojoon explains as they stop in front of the lodge to gear up.

"Daggers. Have you ever seen daggers around here?" Taehyung asks as he looks around the lodge.

"Yes, Jungkook hid them. He said that the owner always put himself in danger when he should only use a bow." Seojoon chuckles as he hands Taehyung the daggers.

"He  always used to hide them." Taehyung laughs and places them in their sheaths around his thighs.

"He's coming?" Minho asks as he sheaths his stunning red sword.
