Chapter 22: Deep Sea

"A lot happened to you while I was gone." Jungkook mutters to Taehyung after Seojoon tells him everything that has happened over the five years.

"It was a lot." Taehyung answers with a sigh.

"Do you think that the gods will try to do anything?" Jin asks as he snuggles in Namjoon's arms.

"I really hope not." Jungkook sighs and holds Taehyung's hand.

"Damn, Taehyung fought off the giant cannibals. I don't think that we have to worry about the gods messing with us. There is a reason they don't want nymphs to fall." Namjoon mumbles as he looks at Taehyung.

"I did almost die." Taehyung points out.

"You did?! Seojoon didn't mention that!" Jungkook yells and looks at Seojoon.

"I forgot that part." Seojoon nervously chuckles and looks at Minho and Yeajin for help.

"I was the one who told you not to tell him these things. You're on your own." Yeajin grins and rests her head on Minho's shoulder.

"One of the giants reached out of the snow and yanked me off of Achlys. I was fine in the end though." Taehyung explains and calms Jungkook down.

"So, you are powerful enough to take them down on your own. One of them was just stubborn and wouldn't die." Yoongi mutters and looks at Taehyung.

"I guess so." Taehyung answers and shrugs his shoulders.

"So, when are we setting out to sea again?" Hoseok asks as they all talk.

"Whenever everyone is rested enough." Jungkook answers and looks at Taehyung for his approval.

"That works with me." Taehyung smiles and kisses Jungkook's lips.

"I'll help you overthrow the Southern king." Yoonseo tells Jungkook as he hopes that he won't be left on the Northern island.

"You will be of great help." Jungkook agrees and nods his head.

"Are you willing to do the ceremony?" Yoongi asks his brother because if Yoonseo is not willing to go through with the ceremony, he will ask Jungkook to leave Yoonseo in the north.

"What ceremony?" Yoonseo asks and looks at Jungkook.

"Do you remember what I told you about Yoongi when you asked about him?" Jungkook asks and faces Yoonseo.

"You said that he met death." Yoonseo quickly answers.

"Every single one of my main crew members have met Death. There is a ceremony where they are struck with lightning through Ryker. If they are afraid or weak, they stay with Death. However, if they are fit to be part of my crew, Death lets them join me and their souls are tied to me." As Jungkook explains, Yoonseo's eyes widen.

"You've all been through it?" Yoonseo asks and looks around the room.

"We have." Jimin answers and smiles at Yoongi.

"I have not. Well, I did, but it didn't go well." Taehyung quietly mutters and looks at his hands intertwined with Jungkook's.

Jungkook's jaw clenches and he feels a pain in his heart.

"I will do it if it makes me fit to be on your crew." Yoonseo decides after a few minutes.

"You could die." Jungkook warns and looks into Yoonseo's eyes for any hesitation.

"I will take the chance." Yoonseo answers with determination and looks at his brother and the man he loves.

Jungkook smirks when he sees Yoonseo look at Taehyung. "Very well." The look in Yoonseo's eyes as he looks at Taehyung is enough to let Jungkook know that he will fight to protect Taehyung.
