🔞 Chapter 33: Under the Sea

"We are at the Southern King's border. We will wait here for three days. We have some company joining us." Jungkook informs everyone as the wind suddenly stops and the sea seems to completely calm.

"Who's coming?" Jin asks as he relaxes on the deck.

"The rest of our fighters." Jungkook smiles and watches Taehyung and Namjoon practice.

"So, we'll have an army." Jin mutters and also turns his attention towards Taehyung and Namjoon.

"The Southern King must have his men pillaging everywhere because the dark energy is growing despite the amount Taehyung is absorbing." Yoongi warns Jungkook as he watches the dark energy grow exponentially.

"How is Taehyung doing?" Jungkook asks with concern lacing his voice.

"He's still absorbing the energy at the same rate. I think that he is starting to learn how to control the amount he absorbs." Yoongi's words calm Jungkook a little.

"Good." Jungkook sighs in relief but keeps his eyes trained on Taehyung.

Namjoon knows that Taehyung needs to release some of the energy that he has been absorbing, so he pushes Taehyung harder than he has been. When Taehyung ignites his daggers with roaring flames, Namjoon smiles and lunges at the cursed nymph.

When their blades clash, sparks fly through the air. Jungkook splashes a large wave over the ship, wetting the wood to keep it from igniting. As their fight speeds up and intensifies, Jungkook begins to worry for Taehyung. He is worried that the God of War is pushing his precious nymph too hard. However, his worries are quenched when a large sword made of flames suddenly appears in Taehyung's hand and clashes with Namjoon's sword.

"Very good." Namjoon praises and swings his sword at Taehyung harder than before.

Taehyung quickly blocks Namjoon's swing from above and creates a fire whip with his other hand and swings the whip to wrap around Namjoon's ankle. Namjoon quickly side steps to avoid the fiery whip which allows Taehyung to move out from underneath his sword.

Taehyung pants while both gods eye each other for the other's next move. Namjoon quickly flicks his eyes one direction to distract Taehyung, but Taehyung is quick to block his attack. Namjoon softly chuckles at Taheyung's speed and wit.

"I'm not that powerful, and I'm a nymph." Odine comments as he watches the fight.

"Taehyung is a royal nymph, a cursed royal nymph." Yoongi explains to the sea nymph.

"Oh, that makes sense. Is he the nymph that was supposed to be a concubine for the future emperor but ran away with a demon?" Odine quietly asks Yoongi so that Jungkook would not hear him.

"He is, and I am that demon." Jungkook answers and turns to look at Odine.

"Are you really Iseult?" Odine asks nervously as he looks into Jungkook deep sea grey eyes. He remembers being told that Jungkook is Iseult, but he was too out of it to believe what he heard.

"I am." Jungkook answers with a soft chuckle as Odine stares at him in awe.

"I never thought that I would ever be able to meet you." Odine mutters in surprise as sparkles light up his eyes while looking at his King.

"Don't worry. I don't plan on being a distant god." Jungkook smiles and pats Odine's head who hiccups in surprise.

As the sun begins to set and the fight continues without pause, Jungkook gets up to stop them because Taehyung's hair is turning white.

"Don't stop them. Let him use some of Illya's powers." Yoongi stops Jungkook as Taehyung's sword turns from fire to ice.

Namjoon begins to drive Taehyung harder because Taehyung needs to learn how to use his non-cursed abilities. The more Namjoon pushes Taehyung, the harder Taehyung pushes back. If it was anyone else fighting Namjoon, they would be frustrated to see that the god has not a single drop of sweat on him, but Taehyung knows the full extent of Namjoon's power. He is the god who has the ability to dethrone the emperor.
