Chapter 42: Storm

As Hurricane speeds through the South Sea, the entire crew hides their energy just as Yoongi taught them while Yoongi uses his ability to shield them.

"Do you think this is enough to hide us from the gods?" Jackson asks Yoongi as they relax on the deck of Hurricane.

"We will see." Yoongi sighs and looks up at the building storms on the horizon.

"Without Jungkook, it's dangerous to sail across the line between the South and North Sea." Namjoon points out as they observe the turmoil ahead.

"Jackson, how long until we reach the line?" Taehyung asks as he walks over to the bow.

"We are still five days away." Jackson answers and shakes his head.

"Five days of tumultuous storms." Jimin sighs and tosses a dagger at the target.

"We'll be ok." Hoseok smiles and ducks from one of Jin's stray daggers.

"Let's prepare for the storms. Toss over any extra weight we don't need. Prepare tools for fixing the hull in case the ship springs leaks. Tie down everything on the deck. Prepare lifelines. And pair up with a buddy to keep each other safe." Taehyung suggests as he looks around at his friends.

"You heard Taehyung! Let's get to it!" Namjoon shouts and begins tying the loose objects down to the ship.

The rest of the day is filled with shouting and hard labor as they prepare Hurricane for the dangerous days ahead of them. Preparing the ship is a good mental relief for all of them since they have to concentrate on something other than losing someone so dear to all of them.

"Dump the excess gold overboard! Lord knows we don't need that much." Taehyung huffs as he lifts a small chest of gold and walks over to the edge of the ship.

"We'll just raid ships for more later." Jimin giggles and helps toss the gold overboard.

"Definitely." Taehyung grins and tosses another chest overboard.

"Three hours until we reach the storms!" Jackson shouts from the eagle's nest.

Jackson's warning sends everyone into overdrive. They all run around, shouting about what still needs to be done before reaching the storms.

Taehyung sighs in exhaustion and plops down on the deck then looks at the clouds looming in front of them. The first cool breeze from the storms brings a sigh of relief to the crew. The sun had been beating down on them the entire time they had been preparing the ship.

"Well, I think everything is ready." Yoonseo sighs and sits next to Hoseok as they wait for the storm to meet them.

"Who is everyone pairing with?" Taehyung asks even though he already knows the answer.

"Jin and I will pair up." Namjoon quickly answers and holds Jin's hand.

"I'm the only one without a partner." Jackson pouts and dramatically lies down on the deck.

"No, you're not." Odine huffs and points at himself and Taehyung.

"The three of us can stick together." Taehyung smiles and pulls Jackson's dramatic ass up.

"Works with me, Pretty." Jackson winks at the two nymphs.

"Creep." Taehyung and Odine grin and shove Jackson down.

The moment the first drops fall form the sky, they all look up then flinch at the lightning. Yoongi lifts his hand up and catches the energy charged rain droplets.

"This is not a regular storm caused by the two seas meeting. The sea is angry and losing control." Yoongi mumbles and stands up.

"It's because the seas' god is in danger and pain." Taehyung whispers as he listens to the seas' cries.
