The Next Morning...
Rain and Stella would talk in the Hallway.
"So, tell me... how was the Nether Princess like?" Stella asked Rain curiously.
"You mean Abigail...well. Before everything happened we were really close. After all, she was my Girlfriend." Rain said.
"So, what happened to that? You two don't really look like your close or anything." Stella responded.Rain would think for a moment about how he should respond to this.
"Well, we both have been separated for a long time, and she needs to collect herself and get back on track. I will help her in any way possible with this. But in the end, I still consider her a close friend. Regardless of what might happen to her." Rain responded in a soft voice.
"Oh wow, Rain. You are a lost cause." Stella would chuckle.
"Oh haha, I'll go check on Abi. Be right back." Rain said as he walked off to Abigail's room.
"Don't fall asleep together you lovebird." Stella shouted after him while wheezing and crying out in laughter.Shortly after Rain arrived at Abigail's room. He then nocks on the door. A few seconds after Abigail opened the door.
"Oh hey Rain, sorry I slept in. Come in." Abigail said as she pushed the door fully open. Rain wouldn't stand around long and walk-in. Inside there was now a desk on which Abigail was sorting Items on, there was food as well as medical supplies on it. Ruby Thorn leaning against the bed.
"We already packed everything we need Abigail." Rain said as Abigail walked back to the table and grabbed the Items laying on it. Before walking over to her bed and grabbing 'Ruby Thorn'.
"I-I know, these bandages are for my wounds. The Doc said I need to change them every two days." Abigail replied as she walked to the door.
"Let's go." She added, not wanting to talk more about it.Rain and Abigail exit the building and walked together through the City. As they made their way to the City gate, Abigail couldn't help but notice the people around her looking at her, some with curiosity, others with mistrust or even aggression. Rain noticed it as well.
"Abigail, don't let yourself be bothered by them. They just don't know you." Rain tried to comfort Abigail.
"I-I know." Abigail responded, it was rather obvious that the attention made her very uneasy.A few minutes after walking the three arrived at the gate to exit the City. Ser Patrick and Azura were already waiting for them.
"Hello Rain, Stella. And....Abigail, right?" Azura greeted them.
"Yes." Abigail confirmed her name to Azura.
"Safe travels to all of you. And come back unharmed. Good luck." Ser Patrick said to the group.
"Thank you." Rain replied.
"Alright, let's go." Stella said impatiently. The group departed from the City making their way to 'The Coven'. They crossed through open fields, dark Forests, and abandoned and destroyed villages. As they once again wandered through the ruins of one such village, Rain said.
"A shame we couldn't protect them all."
"We can't protect everyone Rain, you know this yourself." Stella replied.
"I know." Rain said with regret in his voice.
"What exactly happened here?" Abigail asked.
"During the rise of the Undead, this Villiage was attacked, our forces were stretched fin and we could only use a handful of man to defend this Villiage. They got overwhelmed and the entire settlement got destroyed in the fighting." Stella answered. The group left the Ruins as the sunset started.
"Let's build up a camp. It's getting dark and we should have enough rest." Stella said.
"Agreed, let's find a nice spot." Rain said. The group found a nice place and moved some logs in place for seats. Abigail also collected wood and made a fire.
"That should do it." Abigail said as she ignited the fire. She got up and set down on one of the logs next to Rain. Stella would notice the two sitting next to each other just staring holes into the air. "Hmmm. Maybe I should leave them alone for some time." Stella thought.
"I'll go... look for some apples." Stella said.
"Uhh, why. We have apples with us Stella, there is no need for you to look for some." Rain replied while grabbing an apple.
"Yes, I should get some, see ya later." Stella said as she had already turned around and walked away. She walked into the forest, behind a tree, and set down watching the moon slowly rise."What was that all about." Abigail said in confusion.
"I have no idea." Rain said while looking at her.
"Your horns-" he continued. "Do you feel them?" he asked.
"Huh? Wha-What do you mean by that?" Abigail said, being slightly embarrassed.
"Uhh, I mean. They are horns right?" Rain asked again.
"Oh, Y-Yes they are. No, I don't really feel them. I just feel the extra weight on my head. Tho it's not that much." Abigail replied after calming down.
"Did you ever get stuck with them because of a too-small door?" Rain continued.
"..." Abigail would give him a look.
"Sorry! Sorry." Rain would be amused.
"Back when I was still a part of the Nether, I could see everything going on. I allowed it to happen. I was the one who did it." Abigail started. "I don't know why, it just felt... right to me to do it. Attacking these Soldiers, attacking... you. I couldn't feel emotions. I can't even explain it." She would continue to say as tears flowed down her eyes.
"Only now, that the Nether Star is gone do I realize what I did. Do I even deserve this chance?" Abigail said in tears.
"...Abi" Rain said as he takes her in his arms. Abigail would rest her head on Rain's shoulders and and fall asleep.
