My version of the story, Rain

Part 9 | A curse in more then one way

"I didn't expect her to have all of this on her mind. And how could I help her to deal with this? She was under the influence of that thing. But as much as I tell her it isn't her fault, she just keeps boosting herself into it." Rain thought as he was watching over Abigail leaning at his shoulder. At that moment, Rain could hear a small whistle behind him, that was no ordinary whistle it came closer and closer, this can, could it be? An arrow? At this moment Rian grabs his Diamond sword while standing up causing Abigail to fall onto the log as she woke up. In a clean-cut... Rain sliced the arrow into two peaces.

A horde of undead Zombies and Skeletons approaches behind them. Rain already grabbed his second sword and charged at them while Abigail got up from the log and drew 'Ruby Thorn' to face the monsters.

Rain charged at the First Zombie, with a single strike he cut the walking corps to the ground. Another Zombie charged at him only to be killed by two diamond swords being pierced right through its rotten flesh. Another undead Zombie charged at Rain, this one was no match for the experienced fighter either. Raine grabbed the Zombie and threw him on the ground next to him, he then kneed down while ramming his sword into the Zombie's chest. As Rain stood up he felt dizzy he could feel his body losing all strength in a matter of seconds, he kneed down breathing heavily as a part of his skin started touring black. Three Zombies Charged at him, before they could reach him Abigail would jump over him as soon as she landed she made a roll forward stood up and turned, and placed the peak of her weapon against the Zombie who ran straight into it. She then pulled it out of the Zombie while its corps fell on the ground she turned pushing her spear into the Second Zombie, she then pulled out the spear of the second one. The last Zombie reached her, she blocked the Zombies punch with the spear while grabbing its hand and moving the Thorn out of the blocking position, and thrusting it into the Undeads chest. She then grabs the undead, pulled it on the ground while pulling the spear out of its flesh, she then spun around to pick up speed and then chopped the Zombies head off.

Abigail slowly lowered her head and closed her eyes while taking a deep breath. She then looked up again to check on Rain. As Rain slowly got up Abigail could get a better look at him. His right eye turned dark red and his face looked darker than usual. This must be the Withered effect. Abigail wanted to talk to Rain as she heard fighting noises from the other side of the camp, it was Stella taking out 5 Zombies. Stella finished them off and then walked over to Rain and Abigail.

"Are you two alright?" Stella asked.
"It's the curse, it's getting worse." Abigail answered while walking over to Rain. She placed her hand on Rain's shoulder.
"Come, let's get you back." Abigail said to him as the two walked back to the camp with Rain.
"Rest easy now, I will stay on guard for the night." Abigail said once everyone set back down.
"Alright." Stella said.
"Are you sure?" Rain asked Abigail.
"Yes, don't worry about it. Sleep for a bit." Abigail re-assured Rain.

Rain would lay down on the log next to Abigail. She would lean 'Ruby Thorn' next to hear against the log.
"So Abigail, can I call you Abi?" Stella asked.
"Uh, Sure." Abigail replied.
"So Abi, how was it like?" Stella asked?
"Like what?" Abigail asked back.
"Well, fighting for the Nether of course. Did you got forced or what exactly happened, Rain just told me that you got killed and somehow got revived." Stella said.
"I..I really do not want to talk about it. It's something I want to forget." Abigail said as she closed her eyes, and Stella couldn't help but notice this sign of regret on her face.
"I understand, If you ever need someone to talk to. Feel free to talk to me. Stella said as she opened her book when she looked at Abigail again and placed it on the side.
"How were your time before.. you know... the Nether and everything that happened." Stella asked.
"Casual, I lived a normal life together with Rain." She said as she looked at Rain who was now in a heavy sleep.
"Rain told me you had the Nether Star since your childhood. What's on with that." Stella continued to ask.
"Well, my mother gave it to me when I was young, I experimented with its powers. But I was unable to absorb its full power at that time." Abigail would giggle. "One day I even showed it off to Rain. He was so worried about me... and when I think about it I should have been too. Abigail said as she watched up to the Stars in the sky, having peace in her mind. For the time being.
